Job Description


This role involves spearheading the digitalization and innovation strategy by overseeing research, proof of concept endeavors, and the execution of implementation projects. Offering adept guidance and direction, encompassing processes, tools, facilitation, and critical analysis, for the advancement of the digitalization agenda. This entails working in close collaboration with sector, functional, and global leaders, contributing a strategic and inventive outlook, and potentially aiding in the execution of digitalization undertakings as agreed upon.

The position also encompasses evaluating and shaping strategic initiatives geared towards deploying emerging technologies across DSC businesses. Furthermore, the role involves supervising the creation of tools and comprehensive documentation that facilitate the widespread adoption of technology on both regional and global scales. Maintaining alignment on essential strategic endeavors at the global level is also a key responsibility.

The Manager offers informed recommendations to senior leadership regarding vendor and technology capacities. Additionally, they provide consultation to BU Innovation managers concerning vendor technology assessments and project management. Through active collaboration with vendors, they gain insights into technological capabilities that can enhance solutions, offer business insights, and seamlessly integrate with existing strategic systems and processes.

A pivotal facet of the role is cultivating and leading a team responsible for driving various regional projects, including proof of concept and initial deployments. This involves prioritizing use cases for swift implementation that yields optimal value for the business.

Responsibilities

Project Leadership: Take the helm in managing multiple research and deployment initiatives, effectively allocating responsibilities, and harnessing the strength of professional relationships to ensure successful project outcomes Operational Enhancement: Oversee the orchestration of tools, processes, and organizational frameworks aimed at accelerating DSC operations performance through the strategic integration of emerging technologies End-to-End Supervision: Provide comprehensive oversight throughout the lifecycle of projects, from ideation to seamless delivery, ensuring consistent monitoring of performance for continuous refinementTalent Development: Serve as a dedicated coach, mentor, and trainer for Senior Innovation Analysts and Innovation Analysts, nurturing their growth and fostering a culture of innovation Strategic Guidance: Offer expert advice and mentorship to BU Innovation resources, leveraging your extensive experience to facilitate their professional development and elevate their impact Analytical Support: Bring your advanced analytical expertise to the forefront, contributing insights and guidance to reengineering and continuous improvement projects Systems Aptitude: Demonstrate your proficiency in leveraging software applications to support design activities, showcasing your adeptness in technology integration Process Improvement: Exhibit your advanced proficiency in utilizing design-centric applications, tools, techniques, and process methodologies to drive efficient and effective processes Business Integration: Infuse your design work with essential business skills, integrating disciplines like statistics, operations research, organizational behavior, finance, accounting, and information technology to create holistic solutions Effective Communication: Skillfully communicate project results to diverse stakeholders, including BU, functional, and global leadership, as well as external customers, ensuring clear and impactful messaging Reporting Expertise: Develop comprehensive reports detailing regional innovation activities and effectively share results with sector, function, and global innovation teams Strategic Leadership: Lead division and/or sector teams in achieving agreed key strategic actions, fostering collaboration and accomplishment Progress Propulsion: Drive strategic progress and facilitate the successful completion of targeted initiatives, maintaining momentum and ensuring objectives are met Adaptive Responsiveness: Embrace additional responsibilities as assigned, demonstrating your adaptability and commitment to overall team success

Required Education and Experience

Undergraduate Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Logistics DisciplineMaster’s Degree in Supply Chain / Logistics / Business Administration preferredEducation and/or certification in LEAN, Six Sigma preferred5-10 years of experience in Industrial Engineering/Solutions Design/Consulting in the supply chain industry3+ years of progressive experience in at least one of the following: Project management and implementation, operations management, or organization design and implementation preferredExperience as a management consultant or working in a strategic role in supply chain function preferredIntellectual Horsepower:Intelligent, sharp, comfortable with concepts, complexityBusiness and Commercial Acumen:knows how business and underlying business model works, knowledgeable of future trends, competition, how strategies/tactics work in the marketplaceStrategic Agility:Demonstrated strategic and analytic leadership.Sees ahead clearly, future-oriented, broad knowledge and perspective, anticipates trends and consequences accurately, pragmatic and fact based in approach.Good constructive challengerInterpersonal Savvy:Relates well to all kinds of people, comfortable at all levels, tactful, builds rapport and constructive effective relationshipsMotivates Others:strong ability to influence others, creates climate in which teams and individuals want to achieve, invites input, shares ownership, shares visibility and credit.Communication skills:strong, active patient listening ability, efficient and effective writer, practiced presenter, thinks well on feetIntegrity, self-directed, drive for results, organizational agility, process management, dealing with ambiguityFinancial Expertise:finance background, expertise in analyzing financial statements, performing valuation analyses, detailed operational/financial modeling
