Yes County Albany Street Address 99 Washington Ave City Albany State NY Zip Code 12231 Duties Description The Manager Building Standards & Codes duties in Division of Building Standards & Codes will include but are not limited to the following: • Oversee and supervise the Divisions Unit that provides, statewide modular reviews and approvals, technical assistance.• Oversight of Code Enforcement Officials (CEOs), support and modular manufactures.• Oversee staff that provide plan review.• Administer technical assistance and provide training on advanced code topics to local CEOs, design professions, and the public.• Assist architects, engineers, and local CEOs in the review of construction documents for conformance with the NYS Unifor Fire Prevention and Building Code and rendering of official interpretations. Minimum Qualifications 52.7 NON-COMPETITVE PROMOTON (NCP) QUALIFICATIONS: If there are no more than three qualified candidates in the promotion field for this position, the agency will request approval from the Department of Civil Service to fill this position via a Non-Competitive promotion (NCP) examination, pursuant to Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law. In order to be eligible for the NCP, candidates must have one year or more of qualifying permanent service as a Department of State Professional Engineer 1 (Civil/Construction), Professional Engineer 1 (Civil/Structural), Professional Engineer 1 (Fire Protection), Professional Engineer 1 (Mechanical), Senior Architect, or Senior Building Construction Engineer AND you must have a New York State licensure and current registration as a Registered Architect or Professional Engineer, and must not have failed the last holding of the promotion examination for the title listed above. Civil Service may approve the permanent appointment of one of the qualified titles above without further examination.Note: Non-Competitive refers to not competing in an examination; the appointment will be competitive.
