Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) brings together American Express' merchant-and network-related businesses to enable a sharp focus on using the power of our network to provide unique value to all of our mutual customers. The organization manages the relationships with the millions of merchants around the world that accept American Express and runs the company’s payment network and manages bank partnerships globally. Within GMNS, the Global Strategy, Operations & Performance (GSOP) team’s mission is to deliver a best-in-class premium merchant member experience that will get merchant to not only accept American Express but openly welcome and recommend us to their customers. The Risk & Remediation team within GSOP is responsible for driving complex, enterprise-wide risk management initiatives, enhancing operational Remediation, and leading cross-functional efforts to improve the control environment
**How will you make an impact in this role?**
This position reports into the Vice President, Risk & Remediation. This individual will work closely with the leadership team to drive strategic planning and support results delivery.
They will have the opportunity to work across a wide range of strategic, analytic and communications initiatives to help ensure the objectives of the organization are attained. The Manager Assistant will handle a broad range of complex business and management challenges, collaborating with a variety of business partners across the globe. This role is ideal for someone with the ability to manage and complete multiple projects simultaneously and establish collaborative partnerships across different Business organizations. This is a phenomenal opportunity for a highly motivated, detailed and adaptable individual who has strong project management and analytical skills.
**Key Job Responsibilities:**
+ Support the overall effectiveness and management of the Risk & Remediation Executive Office
+ Support day-to-day activities within the executive office and across the broader organization in close partnership with Risk & Remediation head and leadership team.
+ Proactively support and drive organizational cohesion across the organization.
+ Lead the coordination and organization of staff planning meetings and market visits, creating the agenda and owning follow-up actions.
+ Use cross channel and roadmap knowledge to help craft impactful presentations for key business updates with senior leaders and partners, e.g. BURs, Townhalls, etc.
+ Act as a central point of contact for urgent business issues, initiatives managed from the office of VP, and address various informational requests
+ Maintaining accurate headcount resource planning and reporting, coordinating approval
+ Support budget management and sustainable Opex and Headcount investment planning processes
+ Coordinate year-end and other operational processes including processes for hiring, backfills and WFA requests
+ Manage special projects/activities and particular day-to-day issues, acting as an extension of the VP
+ Collaborate and partner across the organization to improve information sharing, problem solving and idea generation.
+ Actively seek formal and informal feedback from employees to ensure maximum employee engagement and improve leadership effectiveness.

**Qualifications**
Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits
Depending on factors such as business unit requirements, the nature of the position, cost and applicable laws, American Express may provide visa sponsorship for certain positions.
