About the Team:  

Boots UK Performance Media are an award-winning in-house team responsible for driving a large % of online and offline growth for our Retail business through best-in-class online advertising strategy and activation. Recently in-housed in 2024, we’re building one of the UK’s most successful, innovative brand-side teams through bringing together industry leading talent, with strong partnerships and technology tooling.  
 
Overview:

The Performance Media Tech & AI Manager will define and deliver the vision, strategy and roadmap for all Technology, AI, and Data led initiatives – working in close partnership with the UK’s best Performance Marketers, Agencies and Tech Platforms. This role drives growth and channel evolution through the optimisation of our Performance Media ecosystem, by; defining a perfect mix of technology platforms and partner projects, adopting AI & Automation solutions whilst measuring the impact on Performance. This role will ensure our medium to long term growth through unlocking further channel capability across Paid Search, Paid Social, Affiliates, and Display. 
 
Key Responsibilities:Own, evolve and deliver a strong Performance Media Technology & AI strategy which assesses our current level of maturity and takes us into the future – enabling incremental growth through the adoption of cutting-edge Tech & AI solutions.  Key collaborator, driving deep partnerships with Jellyfish (Agency), Performance Media Channels, Tech Platforms (i.e. Google, Meta, Smartly, AWIN) and Ad-tech resource. Lead the scoping, evaluation and implementation of Performance Media AI tools (e.g. reporting agents, creative automation and bidding assistants).  Evidence and showcase the effects of our Tech, AI and Data led initiatives through effective measurement, working with our measurement partners.  Lead, manage and inspire a team of 3 Specialists and 1 Executive – creating a culture of high performance, tenacious curiosity. 
 What you’ll need to have:  Digital Marketing native; keen to lean into the world of Technology & AI, with a good working knowledge of how this can enable growth in Performance Media investment.  A strong understanding of at least three of the Digital Marketing channels (Display, Affiliates, PPC, Paid Social) with the ability to talk both technical and strategic (ideally a minimum of 8-10 years’ experience). Previous management experience with a People first approach to leading; Inspiring and nurturing this newly formed team to become a place where people can do their best work. Comfortable interacting with multiple stakeholders and leveraging a complex roster of partners to drive your agenda.  Base understanding of AI and LLMs – bonus points for already having made efficiencies in your own workflow.  Growth minded, curious but with an ability to focus a team towards achieving a vision and strategy.
