Job DescriptionESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Liaise with NPI Procurement, Design Engineers, Commodity Managers and other relevant stakeholders to ensure and drive a robust sourcing strategy at the NPI phase; Ensure continuity of supply and best in class components in BOMs for all WDC flash productsProvide technology expertise to commodity managers to develop the supply base strategyDrive supply base strategy, by BOM screen, at product design stage; propose alternate sources or replacements and drive the technical qualification processProvide expert technical support for the supplier/technology selection processEnsure qualified suppliers or components are meeting WDC technical requirements, quality requirements, and green policy requirementsReview suppliers’ technology roadmaps, ensure suppliers are meeting WDC technical requirementsWork with PDT teams to support NPI program milestonesQualificationsRequired
Bachelor degree or above in Engineering or Science with equivalent experienceMin 5 years of professional experience including project managementExpert knowledge and experience with electronic componentsPreferred
Prior experience as technical commodity management, product development, quality management or field application engineering is a must; Hardware design experience is a plusCommunicate well in English both in verbal and written formSkills
