RoleManager – Design OperationsResponsibilitiesThe overall responsibility of this role will be to coordinate and ensure on-time delivery of all design & estimate requests from our Sales & Presales teams globally. This is a people manager role that oversees Request inflow Management, Quality & Accuracy of Design, and Personnel Development of a team of about 15 Design Engineers. The role will have a matrix reporting and is based out of our Global Technology Center, Chennai.Below is the list of key roles & responsibilities:• Report to GTC leadership for People and Capability development of team and coordinate with US based Director for department planning/initiatives and delivery• Report to and coordinate with US based Director for team management and department planning/initiatives• Coordinate and manage design and estimate requests for the team • Work with Sales and Pre-Sales to ensure on time request fulfillment & process adherence by the team • Participate in internal design huddles to understand if we meet customer specific intent before drawings are finalized and released for production • Continuous skill improvement of the team via training and special projects• Identify solutions to improve design team efficiency & productivity • Coordinate and maintain Key Customer Design Guidelines • Cross check Customer Proposals including BOMs, BOQs, etc• Maintain and develop Design Playbook• Create project specific Information Memorandums as required• Manage HR related topics: employee evaluations, hiring, time off, etc
Candidate Profile• 8+ years of relevant work experience in Electrical construction engineering or project management• Minimum 5 years of People Management experience is highly encouraged • Hands-on Experience with Autocad, Bluebeam studio & Revit • Strong customer service mentality and disposition - desire to always go the extra mile for the customer • Knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Visio, Salesforce • Technical background understanding system designs • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills • Should be self-organizing and be able to work with minimal supervision • Flexibility with work timings
