SUMMARY
The Manager, Workplace Solutions – Interior Design is responsible for overseeing the architectural technology and design team in all aspects of management. They will lead projects by assigning resources, distributing work, developing plans & forecasts according to client needs and specifications and with consideration to factors such as cost, budget, timelines, environment, structural impact and limitations. They will be responsible for ensuring PO's are issued and payment is received. Design work must meet client specifications and must be delivered within budget and timelines. This may include day-to-day churn services, needs analysis/validation, stacking, blocking, cad layouts, etc. Options are developed in support in response to client on-demand business needs. The Team Lead works with internal Brookfield GIS staff as well as client and external consultants, as required, to ensure timely, successful implementation of design and construction initiatives. Provides direction, leadership and reviews work of architectural technologists /design specialists, as required.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists with RFP bid document submissions and works through business development initiatives, as required. Support interior design activities including project work, specification writing, tender drawing creation, renderings, contractor management, deficiency identification and problem solving, and interfacing with Drawing & Occupancy team as required. Oversee the development of material cost estimates, project specifications and tender documents, including permit drawings and applications. Creates schedules while monitoring progress against timelines. Oversees the preparation of technical documentation (e.g., user guides, technical specifications). Oversees the development of documentation and implementation of design processes, policies and procedures. Ensures team members have adequate training materials and sessions to ensure consistency, oversee development and scheduling. Supports as required team in completing renderings in the form of 3-D renderings, working drawings, plans, models and schemes using computer-aided design (CAD) software. Review and assign resources as required to meet schedule, budget and technical needs; actively seek additional services to benefit the client and Brookfield Global Integrated Solutions; strive to ensure that projects are started with adequate lead time to complete within client time parameters and to meet Brookfield Global Integrated Solutions and team needs with respect to work-loading and overall financial considerations. Provides Quality Assurance checks for other team members work as required Performs work with minimum supervision, and work is assigned in terms of technical objectives. Provides support, guidance and production assurance for complex or urgent problems. Makes recommendations or decisions on interior design, application of standards and process improvements in line with client needs and requirements. Takes responsibility for your individual and the team's results. Estimates and prioritizes work to maximize value while taking into account risk, effort and dependencies. Raises impediments, risks, and issues as early as possible and work with the team to mitigate as needed. Validates design standards are implemented where required. Undertake Space Planning responsibilities, as required. Oversees and supports senior acting as the first point of contact Supports as an escalation in gaining approval of project designs, where required, by internal business representatives and Project Managers Applies applicable building codes (e.g. egress and life safety) and liaise with local authorities as required, for purpose of gaining permit approvals.JOB PROFILE

Knowledge & Skills
University degree in design related program with more than 10 years of demonstrated experience Interior design and documentation expertise. Awareness of building issues, building and safety codes, the range of relevant products and materials, ergonomics, LEED, Bill 124 and applicable industry standards and regulations. Proven cost estimating and project specification writing abilities. Proficient with AutoCAD and related software; MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Strong organizational, time management and multi-tasking abilities. Strong client service skills with ability to manage client expectations. Proven problem solving and analytical skills.
