The Enterprise Platforms & Security (EP&S) team supports Pfizer’s technology infrastructure services, ensuring highly available and secure communications throughout the corporation and with external partner organizations. EP&S secures Pfizer's most important information assets through world class protections that enable rather than limit critical business operations. As part of the Pfizer Digital organization, the EP&S team is a key enabler in Pfizer’s ongoing digital transformation.
Candidate will be required to provide network subject matter expertise (SME) for WAN, DMZ and Cloud Technologies.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES WAN-DMZ Engineering Project Delivery:Gather requirements, engineer solutions, and deploy solutions to meet the needs of our business clients
Perform coding and scripting tasks to support the network environment
Ensure that solutions and services are properly documented and supportable by the Pfizer Network Operations teams
Support business case development, secure resources, and project funding to ensure adherence throughout the network Service Life Cycle
Assist in the development of network and supporting access architecture/engineering standards and framework to couple with other internal technology standards
Design and implement WAN-DMZ and supporting network access solutions for Pfizer’s global network enhancements
Support with financial management of annual maintenance and licensing contracts
Bi-weekly reporting on Project, Incident, Problem Management, and BAU Service Requests via JIRA/Agile Operating Model
WAN-DMZ Engineering Technical:
Management of WAN-DMZ assets, both physical and virtual
Lifecycle management of deployed infrastructure
Function as an escalation point for solutioning and troubleshooting complex incidents
Support the evaluation and definition of Wan, DMZ and Cloud design standards, including detailed technical design documents and maintaining physical and logical diagrams
Support collaboration efforts in the research, development, and deployment efforts of new WAN/cloud services, technologies and features
Support network related infrastructure changes from requirements to implementation, including detailed design, analysis, testing and optimization
Develop efficient and resilient network designs to ensure availability to core data centers and cloud services
Collaborate with cross-organizational teams, FW engineering, Network Operations, Global Information Security, DDI engineering to develop global standards
Install and configure network hardware and software in accordance with design standards and change management procedures
Identify inaccurate support documentation and assist with associated updates
Identify continual service improvement opportunities and assist with implementing associated changes
Remain current on new network technologies, products, and services – including micro-segmentation deployment, profiling and adaptive policy zero-trust network access
Provide input to the development of the long-term strategy for WAN-DMZ services globally
Identify potential opportunities to automate Network Operational processes, including elimination toil and risk
Assist in the development of an automation framework to couple with other internal technology standards, including tool discovery, selection, and implementation
Assist in design and implementation of automation solutions for Pfizer’s global network enhancements
Assist, in an SME role, in the creation and on-going maintenance of a development operations and automation teams
Support the development of complex automation solutions to work with existing and new network technologies such as switches, routers, and firewalls
Maintain design and support documentation
Identify potential opportunities to automate Network Operational processes, including elimination of toil and risk
Integrate network function (e.g. DNS and DHCP) provisioning into software engineering pipelines, including Native Cloud platforms and services
Use and customize industry-leading Network Performance Monitoring, Planning, and Configuration Management capabilities
Programmatically analyze network incidents and develop automated solutions for close loop remediation
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree required, major in a technical field such as Information Technology or Computer Science/Engineering
4+ years of experience in a Technology role
Design, manage, and troubleshoot complex large-scale networks
Associate level Industry certifications (CCNA, DEVASC, CCSA, or equivalent expertise)
A strong team player with excellent oral and written communication skills
Process oriented with great documentation skills
Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving and troubleshooting ability
Self-starter with the ability to independently prioritize and complete multiple tasks with little to no supervision
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree major in a technical field such as Information Technology or Computer Science/Engineering
Strong knowledge of Network technologies especially routing and switching
Strong coding and scripting Experience (Terraform, Python, Perl, etc)
Professional level Industry certifications (CCNP, CCSE, CISSP, or equivalent expertise)
Experience with design/implementation/troubleshooting Cisco/Meraki/Aruba network technologies, Cisco Viptela SDWAN.
Experience with Cloud services and technologies AWS, Azure, GCP, Aviatrix
