Manager, Volunteer Programs - AP
Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is looking for a hands-on and experienced individual that will be responsible for providing management, and coordination of Global Village Program - a key pillar in the implementation of Volunteer Programs strategy in the region - as well as provide guidance in the design, delivery, and evaluation of local volunteering initiatives in partnership with national organizations in Asia-Pacific. The position ensures the alignment of volunteer programs and projects in the context of Habitat for Humanity’s strategies, and in strengthening volunteering in development.

This position may be based in the Philippines, Indonesia, Cambodia, or Nepal. Candidates must be currently eligible to work in the country without sponsorship. The successful candidate will be offered an initial contract of 2 years that is subject to renewal depending on the availability of the funds, and a local country-based compensation package.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Program Management, Sustainability, and Innovations in Global Village (25%)Management and administration of Global Village in collaboration with HQ and AO teamsProgram resumption of Global Village and alignment to the global remodel processMainstreaming of people-centered development across program and volunteer journeyEnsure program sustainability and positive ROI (Return of Investment) and SROI (Social Return of Investment)Strengthen design and delivery of special builds and other cross-border innovative volunteer engagement modelsCreate and maintain an environment that safeguards the rights of staff, volunteers, and community membersUphold HFHI’s safeguarding policy and necessary procedures in the implementation of volunteer and community engagement programs
Building network capacity in volunteer management systems (30%)Support national organizations in the conceptualization and program design of local volunteering initiatives in the context of the strategic business planServe as subject matter expert on volunteer duty of care and ensure up to date risk management and assessment related to volunteeringConvene stakeholder-driven COPs (Communities of Practice) on innovative volunteering models and best practiceLead in developing capacity building programs and volunteer management trainingMap out volunteer engagement programs and projects in the region and determine gaps and opportunities
Knowledge management and other specialized support (25%)Document best practices, innovative volunteer solutions and impact stories, and develop regional marketing and promotional materials that will help position Habitat’s brand in
volunteering including reporting of annual milestones and achievements to internal and external audienceShare industry updates, emerging or evolving trends and knowledge in volunteering for development via webinars and drive research agenda in the regionEnsure timely consolidation and submission of reports including documentation of criticalvolunteer program milestones and achievements such as annual and quarterly reporting, divisional and global reporting, monitoring of program metrics and compliance to Habitat’s standards of excellence (SOE) in volunteer engagementSupport national organizations in monitoring financial data and conduct a return on investment and SROI analysis periodicallySubject to data privacy policy and laws, collect, process and disseminate relevant information throughout the Habitat network regionally and globally
Resource development and partnerships (20%)Support other types of builds taking place in the region in coordination with Resource Development/Tithe or other relevant departments ensuring alignment and compliance to
HFHI minimum standardsCoordinate with Resource Development teams/channels in project development including all stages in proposal and concept note development and convene other SMEs, where necessaryWork with like-minded/peer organizations to strengthen Habitat’s theory and practice in
volunteering for development
To be an HFH employee, you have a responsibility to learn significant awareness on safeguarding in order to recognize and be alert for the signs of potential safeguarding misconduct, and to make a timely report about any incident related to it.


Minimum Requirements:Education: Bachelor’s degree in social work, international development, social science, or other relevant field
Years of Related Experience:At least 8 years of experience in volunteer program development and management and experience in the non-profit, NGO sectorExperience working in complex environment and system with relationships development and management with country offices, headquarters and other stakeholdersQualifications:Strategic thinker; strong background in product development Team building skills and a team playerAbility to manage multiple projects and prioritiesA keen eye for analysis and detail-orientedExcellent organizational and administrative skillsExcellent English oral and written communication skillsAbility to work in a cross-cultural setting
