Testing Manager - Technology VOIS Romania
Your day to day:Technology VOIS Romania is a European highly skilled technology centre that drives transformation and innovation across various services and significantly contributes to Vodafone Group Technology 2025 Strategy and GITS & Technology VOIS 2025 Strategy implementation.
The role is responsible to build, develop and continuously improve the Testing (design & automation & execution) functions within Technology VOIS Romania, supporting Vodafone Romania OpCo, while ensuring the operational quality of service as well as optimal cost of service delivery.
To that extent, the Testing Manager is responsible to define the best-balanced resource mix for delivering at the agreed quality and cost parameters all the test design and execution activities. The role is responsible to ensure the implementation of scalable processes, automation frameworks and continuous development of the workforce, lead all test teams in Romania by defining and executing the strategy around DevOps, agile testing methodologies and progressive testing best practices to ensure high quality deployments in suitable timeframes
The role has multiple dimensions:
a) As a line manager, lead & develop the testing workforce
b) As a member of the Technology VOIS Romania extended leadership team, contribute to strategy development & implementation; be part of cross-functional work-streams; act as a role model of Vodafone Spirit, continuously learn and develop self and mentor and guide talents in the organisation, outside own department
c) As a member of the GITS & Technology VOIS Service line, contribute to the definition of the technology roadmap & tooling required to enable the Software Engineering strategy implementation Technology VOIS Romania management team
Key accountabilities:
• Define and manage the department resourcing skill mix and manage the cost of service delivery by:
o Continuous learning & development
o Automation
o Continuous improvement
o Standardization
o Consolidation
• Act as TSS representative towards strategic and operational internal customers
• Implement/exceed SLA objectives and KPIs
• Lead & direct testing teams
• Identify, mentor, coach and develop talents; ensure succession planning for all management and critical individual contributor roles
• Create a learning, experimentation and innovation culture across teams, ensure time for learning and development plans are in place for all team members
• Implement/exceed SLA objectives and KPIs for all the services in the portfolio
• Collaborate effectively with other teams and departments, within GITS & Technology VOIS and Local Markets and other Group Functions
Direct reports: 5-10 line managers and 0-10 senior security experts
Who you areCore competencies, knowledge and experience:
• Deep understanding of solutions and products lifecycle, with a focus on testing
• 10+ years of overall experience gained in roles connected to relevant field
• Practical experience (at least 5 years) as a test designer, test manager or senior tester
• Experience in managing large teams and managing team leaders
• Customer focused
• Ability to work in an international organisation with matrix structure
• Budget management and financial acumen
• Proven track record of optimizing delivery
• Well-developed coordination & leadership skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to motivate and inspire others, able to deal with customers and employees.
• Experience in both B2B and B2C technology companies
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
• University degree in computer science, telecommunications or equivalent
• Financial understanding
• Fluent English
• Track record of creating great customer experiences
• Certifications such as ISTQB, Scrum Master, PMP, Prince 2, etc
