Manager, Transportation
About the Team

DoorDash Drive seeks a Senior Manager to lead fulfillment strategy and site operations for our expanding new verticals.

DoorDash Drive is our company's hyper-growth platform team serving restaurants, grocers and retailers across the United States, Canada and Australia. The Fulfillment team is responsible for driving the strategy, profitability, and operations across each vertical. In this fast-growing, high-energy environment, you'll drive innovation while maintaining a strong focus on quality and efficiency.

About the Role

The  Manager, Transportation will support the strategy, design, and optimization of our end-to-end logistics network—helping shape how goods move from origin to destination across DoorDash’s growing Drive platform. As we scale one of our fastest-growing verticals, you’ll play a key role in building a cost-efficient, reliable, and high-performing transportation infrastructure. Reporting to the Director of Strategy & Operations, this role may be based near a major logistics hub and includes 10–20% travel.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will… Optimize network performance – Support the design and execution of transportation flows across first-mile and middle-mile operations. Contribute to the development of scalable routing strategies and mode selection frameworks that balance cost, speed, and service-level goals. Collaborate on cross-functional initiatives – Work closely with Product, Engineering, Analytics, Finance, and Fulfillment Operations to support the deployment of transportation technologies (e.g., TMS, route optimization tools). Translate operational insights into product feedback to inform roadmap decisions. Support network strategy execution – Analyze network performance to identify capacity constraints and efficiency opportunities. Assist in the implementation of new lanes, consolidation strategies, or regional nodes under the guidance of senior leadership. Drive operational improvements – Use data to surface cost drivers and service gaps. Lead portions of pilot programs and assist in process rollouts aimed at improving reliability and scalability. Contribute to carrier and mode strategy – Support the selection and management of carrier partners. Assist in optimizing modal strategies (air, ground, LTL, FTL, parcel) and load planning to improve performance and reduce transportation costs. We’re excited about you because… You’re a systems thinker – You see the full picture of how products, transportation, and operations connect—and design accordingly. You’re data-driven and execution-oriented – You ground your strategy in data, move quickly from analysis to action, and can lead execution across teams. You thrive in ambiguity – You’re energized by complexity and enjoy building new strategies and models in uncharted territory. You’ve led cross-functional programs – You’ve influenced diverse teams and delivered measurable results at scale. You have 8+ years of relevant experience – You’ve worked in logistics, transportation, operations strategy, supply chain consulting, or a fast-paced tech environment. Experience with SQL, Python, network modeling tools, or transportation systems is a strong plus. Experience in high-growth startups or customer-facing roles is a plus.
