Job Description

Job Summary 

The Manager, Telecommunications oversees the daily operations, maintenance, and strategic planning of telecommunications systems for the facility. This role ensures efficient and reliable communication infrastructure to support organizational needs. The Manager is responsible for managing telecommunication staff, vendor relationships, and budgeting while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal policies. 

Essential Functions

Manages the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunication systems, including voice, data, and network equipment. Develops and implements telecommunication strategies to enhance system efficiency and reliability. Oversees telecommunications staff, including recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and scheduling. Monitors telecommunication systems and resolves issues to ensure uninterrupted communication services. Collaborates with IT and other departments to integrate telecommunication solutions with broader technology initiatives. Manages vendor relationships, including contracts, service agreements, and system upgrades. Prepares and monitors telecommunications budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and adherence to financial objectives. Creates and maintains documentation for telecommunications systems, procedures, and policies. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field required 4-6 years of experience in telecommunications required 1-3 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

In-depth knowledge of telecommunication systems, including VoIP, PBX, and wireless technologies. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Excellent project management abilities, including planning, execution, and monitoring. Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively. Knowledge of budgeting and financial management principles. Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to telecommunications systems. Strong leadership and team management skills.

Licenses and Certifications

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or related certification preferred
