Fire TV powers a wide range of Smart TVs across the world on many different brands. We are looking for an experienced TPM Manager to lead a team of China-based TPMs that launch new Fire TV devices for OEM/ODM partners in China. The China TPM Manager will be the single-threaded leader for the Launch TPM team in China. They will manage the team that owns the end-to-end launch of partner programs in China from definition to planning to launch to post-launch working closely with internal and external partners.
The China TPM Manager will oversee the successful development, launch and sustaining of Fire TV programs.
The role is inherently cross-functional, working closely with a high-energy team of software engineers, product managers, marketers, customer service leads as well as many external partners (inc. device manufacturers, brand & retailers).
This role is a good fit for someone who is organized, thrives in a dynamic environment, and understands the diverse perspectives of stakeholders to deliver complex programs.
The ideal candidate is passionate about product development and delivery, interested in TV & video entertainment domain, with an established track of delivering consumer electronic products.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of Technical Program Managers to drive successful launch of Fire TV programs for China OEM/ODM partners
- Drive diligent planning, execution, delivery, post-launch support across the global portfolio of assigned China partners
- Work with engineering teams, leadership, product management, marketers, customer service leads, and external partners to ensure successful program delivery
- Establish and improve processes for managing complex, cross-functional programs and coordinating release schedules
- Lead partner-facing mechanisms including MBR/QBR/Retrospectives/Planning sessions/one-roof-integration workshops
About the team
As Fire TV launch team, we manage the lifecycle of the Fire TV cross-functional programs, we act as the voice of our programs, being the primary point of contact for the product development and launch, and ensuring the right level of communication up to VP level.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience working directly with engineering teams
- Software development experience
- Technical product or program management experience
- Experience managing technical teams
- Demonstrated experience in hiring and developing high-performing teams
- Demonstrated ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes
- Ability to roll up sleeves and operate as an individual contributor to get the job done; at the same time be able to guide the team
- Able to provide architectural guidance and direction throughout project lifecycle
Preferred Qualifications
- Project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
- Master’s degree in Computer Science/Math or related field
- Deep hands-on technical expertise, prior experience in software development
- Experience in Agile development methodologies, deep understanding of software development in large teams, and a track record of shipping software on time
- Experience managing teams of 10+ people
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Consumer device product development, launch especially Smart TV
