Manages and oversees the supply chain function, providing in material procurement the tools to ensure the supply of direct and indirect material, based on negotiations, in terms of price, payment terms, supplier development quality, response time and guarantee. In PC&L, including foreign trade, vendor development, contract negotiation, inventory control and stockroom. Develops metrics to assess supplier performance, improve forecast accuracy while maintaining overall quality and customer service. Develops and implements department standards, practices, procedures, and policies. Coordinates supply plans for new product introductions and product phase outs in conjunction with sales, operations, engineering, and suppliers. The above with full compliance and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Create strategies with a primary focus on cost reduction and follow-up to the implementation of savings ideas aligned to the % of cost reduction previously established by VP GSM.
Create strategies for the optimal replenishment of indirect material, taking care of inventory value and ensuring spare parts for the end user.
Supervise the performance of suppliers in conjunction with the Quality/Materials Department.
Monitor and evaluate the performance of the staff in charge.
Manages and oversees the procurement process for commodity products, scheduling of the orders and storage and kitting of material to production floor.
Coordinates all activities related to procurement commodity and following up with intent to purchase through the delivery process.
Investigates and interviews potential suppliers to determine if they meet the specified requirements.
Negotiates the lowest possible cost for the commodity balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs.
Assures that the commodity is delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets the quality standards of the company.
Manages activities of the stockroom, shipping and receiving area
Ensures that materials are properly received and will coordinate storage of materials in a systematic and convenient location for removal when needed.
Maintains a timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records.
Coordinates appropriate methods needed to distribute commodity in a cost-effective manner.
Ensure Customer attendance on team trainings for: CMMS3 ( EDDL/DDL) for production suppliers, Ford MP&L and Delivery Rating Training for Production and Service MMOG / LE and CTPAT.
Manage Supplier Development Engineering to accomplish all its activities supporting purchasing team.
