Primarily daylight hours, Monday through Friday! Occasional evening and/or weekend hours to meet with or answer operational inquiries from staff that work off-hours. Ability to travel up to 50%, as needed, to evaluate staffing and operational needs across any of the 13 Breast Imaging Centers.Now is an exciting time to join our expanding, team-oriented Breast Imaging Department! The Manager of Specialty Imaging Services coordinates daily operations for the department, while also performing duties of a clinical technologist, as required. This role will be responsible for ensuring consistent, readily available access for patients across all 13 sites, as well as ensuring an efficient technologist schedule. In addition to serving as a direct liaison with the Breast Imaging physician team, the Manager will be directly responsible for technologist recruitment and student mentorship.

Responsibilities:
Assists the Director with management of departmental and day-to-day operations. Works closely with the Director, Supervisors, and Physicians to develop a team atmosphere. Establishes and maintains an atmosphere of caring and support by directly utilizing the UPMC core values. Collaborates with department leadership team in protocol development and training programs, and supports quality improvement initiatives for the department. Accountable for financial, operations, volume, and quality initiatives for the department. Participates with monthly staff meetings, providing updates to staff on process changes, hospital changes, and departmental changes. Performs hiring, dismissals, employee reviews, evaluations, and training programs. Coordinates quality control activities and staff schedules, and accepts responsibility for the resolution of problems that arise. Identifies and responds to complaints/problems, and conducts investigations, takes corrective action, and/or prepares related documentation. Manages multiple projects/duties, set priorities, and utilizes good planning skills to enhance staff productivity, exam turnaround, along with staff and patient satisfaction.
