Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead a team focused on building and maintaining internal development platforms that empower our software engineering teams. This group owns and operates critical infrastructure tools such as Terraform Enterprise, GitHub Enterprise, Nexus, and SonarQube, and plays a key role in ensuring quality, security, governance, and efficiency across the software development lifecycle.

You’ll be responsible for driving platform reliability, scalability, and usability while supporting a team of engineers through mentorship, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration. Our internal customers are primarily software engineers, and your work will directly impact their productivity and success.

Responsibilities:

Lead and grow a team responsible for core development infrastructure platformsEnsure the reliability, performance, and availability of supported services, meeting or exceeding SLAsCollaborate with security and engineering teams to embed best practices across the SDLCDrive the development and maintenance of Copilot-related metrics and dashboards using Amazon QuickSightOversee observability tooling and practices, including Splunk and Datadog, to ensure visibility into system health and performanceEstablish and enforce governance standards for internal platforms, including access controls, compliance, and audit readinessPartner with leadership to define team strategy, roadmap, and long-term goalsPromote engineering excellence through best practices in infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and platform governanceSupport change management and continuous improvement through agile methodologies

Qualifications5+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering3+ years of experience managing engineering teams, including hiring, performance reviews, and career developmentHands-on experience with Terraform Enterprise, GitHub Enterprise, Nexus, and SonarQubeExperience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or AzureProficiency in infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipeline designExperience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow (SNOW), AutoNow, or Jira Service ManagementExperience building and maintaining metrics dashboards using Amazon QuickSight or similar BI toolsExperience managing observability platforms such as Splunk and DatadogProven ability to manage services with uptime and performance SLAsFamiliarity with platform governance practices, including policy enforcement, access management, and compliance monitoringManagement ExperienceDemonstrated success leading high-performing, distributed engineering teamsSkilled in coaching, mentoring, and supporting engineers at all levelsExperience fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous learningAbility to lead teams through organizational and technical changeStrong cross-functional collaboration with product, security, and infrastructure stakeholders
