This role is part of Parametric's hybrid working model, which includes working in the office 3 days a week and choosing to work remotely or in the office the remaining days of the week.

ABOUT THE TEAM
The Client Activities team at Parametric:

We are building financial software that models and supports some of the worlds most complex financial opportunities. This includes building solutions to provide customized direct index exposure while making tax sensitive asset selection to improve overall after-tax portfolio returns.We design and build financial software responsible for the account life cycle that starts with the onboarding of accounts, managing all client activities and investment instructions, and finally managing equity investment accounts at scale.


ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Manager, Software Engineering with extensive experience in leading high-performing software engineering teams within the financial services industry. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader and strategic thinker, passionate about leveraging technology to solve complex business challenges, drive innovation, and deliver value to stakeholders.

This role spans across many services within the team building out underlying components that will provide critical services to the Client Servicing Team. These services will help streamline the account onboarding, activities and straight through processing to allow for exception driven processes.

This position will report into the Client Services technology team and work closely with team leads across Technology teams, Business Analysis as well as Business Partners. In this role, the candidate will develop the appropriate software strategy, striking a balance between: (1) alignment with the growth objectives of the Business; (2) higher performance and consistently high quality; and (3) cost effective application structure and use of new technologies.

A critical objective for this role is to architect and deliver scalable enterprise solutions, leveraging AWS cloud native technologies, designing, and implementing micro-services and a relentless focus on maintainability, performance, and resilience.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership & Vision: 

  - Define, communicate, and execute a long-term technical vision aligned with business objectives.

  - Exhibit thought leadership by staying abreast of industry trends and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Team Management & Development:

  - Lead, mentor, and inspire multiple engineering teams, ensuring high performance, collaboration, and professional growth.

  - Manage performance through regular feedback, career development plans, and performance appraisals.

  - Attract, retain, and develop top engineering talent by creating an inclusive and motivating work environment.

Business Problem Solving: 

  - Engage with business leaders to understand complex challenges and translate them into effective technical solutions.

  - Prioritize work based on business value, technical feasibility, and resource availability.

Stakeholder Management: 

  - Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including executives, product managers, and customers.

  - Clearly communicate technical concepts, project status, and business impact to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Project & Delivery Management: 

  - Oversee the scoping, planning, and delivery of large-scale, mission-critical software projects.

  - Ensure adherence to best practices in software engineering, architecture, and operational excellence.

Risk & Compliance: 

  - Ensure all solutions comply with relevant industry regulations, security standards, and internal policies.

  - Identify and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

10+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong hands-on technical background, and more than 7 years in people management.Proven expertise in leading high-performing teams, with the ability to mentor and motivate engineers at all levels, fostering collaboration and innovation.Deep expertise in designing, building, and maintaining enterprise-grade financial services systems.Strong technical fluency in object-oriented programming languages and cloud-native service development, preferably on AWS.Expertise in software engineering methodologies, architectural frameworks, and operational strategies.Proven ability to implement best practices, foster continuous improvement, and ensure system reliability and scalability.Demonstrated success in managing and delivering complex projects on schedule and within budget, utilizing methodologies such as Agile and Scrum for effective planning and execution.Strong business acumen with the ability to align technology strategies with business goals, ensuring technological initiatives drive organizational success.Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly to team members and stakeholders.Proven experience in managing stakeholders and fostering cross-functional collaboration to achieve shared objectives.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, demonstrating resilience and flexibility in the face of change and challenges.Experience in the Financial Services industry, with expertise in regulatory compliance, financial products, and technology integration.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 - $225,000/Yr per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
