Overview
The Small Business segment team drives opportunities to grow and defend our business in a profitable and sustainable manner. Our key activities include:
•\tIdentifying and developing new business in the SME segment
•\tIdentify and drive strategic partnerships
•\tProvide deep sales expertise to our partners and power their growth

The Manager, Small Business Segment, based in Japan, will be part of the Commercial and New Payments Flow team which is responsible for advancing Mastercard’s small business efforts in North East Asia, and reports to Vice President, Small Business Segment lead, North East Asia division. The individual will be responsible for supporting small business prepaid, debit and credit cards performance, which includes driving strategy, sales management, analysis and reporting, and sharing best practices.

This role will be a point of contact for Small Business sales to internal partners and issuers, and the individual will be partnering with the Regional Small Business organization to deliver GDV, new customers, market share and revenue objectives for the market.

Role
The key objectives of this role are to drive growth of the Small Business prepaid, debit and credit card portfolios, and achieve agreed targets in terms of new wins, spend volumes, revenue and market share through the following activities:

•\tPossess deep knowledge of payment market products and programs from both issuer and end-user client perspective.
•\tDevelop strategy and recommend new, differentiated features and benefits to enhance sales and optimization strategy for existing and prospective Bank partners, 3rd party partners, Fintech partners and startup community in order to drive new business and incremental growth for Mastercard's Small Business portfolio
•\tCollaborate with multiple stakeholders across Account Teams, Marketing, Loyalty, Finance, Pricing and Interchange, Franchise, Legal and Customer Delivery, as well as 3rd party partners to support new launches and go-to-market initiatives
•\tProvide consultative sales enablement, especially during complex and cross-departmental discussions through the combination of functional skills and a thorough understanding of Mastercard's assets, positioning the organization as the best product partner for the customer.
•\tMonitor the landscape of competitive products and industry trends via desktop research or primary research engagements, understand their implications on the Mastercard Small Business cards portfolio, and recommend necessary adjustments


All About You

•\tDemonstrated ability with proven track record to deliver against sales targets
•\tRelevant industry experience preferred, such as payments, cards, financial services, fintech, start-up world etc.
•\tTrack record of initiating new approaches to doing business and driving implementation to deliver tangible business results
•\tStrong team player with good communication and presentation skills
•\tStrong research, analytical and technical skills
•\tSelf-motivated and able to operate within a cross-functional team environment
•\tSkilled at management reporting and gathering insights from granular data to influence decision making
•\tStrong in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel
•\tOrganizational savviness to navigate a highly matrixed organization and resilience to thrive in high pressure goal-oriented, and substantial revenue growth driven environment.
•\tBachelor’s degree. MBA preferred.
•\tEnglish is mandatory.
•\tWillingness to travel throughout the region.
