Manager, Sales Training – DACH

Job Description:

Responsibilities

The Manager, Field Training (m/w/d) is responsible for enhancing the sales capabilities of the DACH commercial team. This role focuses primarily on developing and delivering impactful sales training programs, coaching field sales representatives, and supporting the achievement of commercial goals. Unlike Clinical Managers who focus on clinical education and support, this position is dedicated to strengthening selling skills, objection handling, territory planning and sales execution. The role collaborates closely with Sales Leadership, Marketing and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with commercial strategies.

Key Responsibility

Sales Training Strategy: Design and implement training programs focused on sales effectiveness, including objection handling, negotiation and closing techniques, and competitive selling methodologies such as Challenger Sales.Coaching & Development: Conduct regular field coaching visits to assess and improve sales performance. Emphasis on in-field coaching, with at least 70% of time spent in the field, accompanying Territory Managers in their daily business to drive real-time development.Sales Enablement: Equip the sales team with tools and knowledge to drive product adoption and meet sales targets.Workshop Delivery: Lead sales workshops and training sessions at regional and national meetings.Performance Monitoring: Analyze sales KPIs to identify training needs and measure training impact.Collaboration: Work with Sales Directors and Marketing to align training with strategic objectives.Content Management: Maintain and update sales training materials and manage training documentation.Territory Support: Support onboarding of new sales hires and provide ongoing development for tenured team members.Psychometric Tools (Plus): Experience with tools such as DISC or Insights Discovery is considered a strong asset.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or certifications are a plus.Sales Training Experience: Minimum of 8 years in the field, including 5 years in sales training within the medical device or healthcare industry.Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of diabetes care and insulin pump therapy.CRM & Analytics: Experience with CRM systems and sales analytics tools.

Skills

Leadership: Proven ability to coach and develop high-performing sales teams.Training Expertise: Strong facilitation and presentation skills in both in-person and virtual settings.Communication: Effective verbal and written communication across all organizational levels.Analytical Thinking: Ability to evaluate performance data and translate insights into training actions.Cross-functional Collaboration: Experience working with Sales, Marketing, Clinical, Medical and other departments.Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.Fluent in German and English (French would be a plus)

Physical Requirements

Valid driving license required.Regular field travel across the DACH region (70% on average).Work environment includes clinics, practices, and a home office.A company car will be provided.
