As a Sales Support Manager, you will play a key role in driving the global sales support activities, technical proposals, project management, market analysis, and troubleshooting for Wärtsilä Shaft Line Solutions Japan products. You will also contribute to business growth and team development.
The location of this position is either Tokyo or Toyama in Japan.
About the position:
In this position, you will be responsible for:
Global Sales Support (Technical & Commercial) - Coordinate with customers and global sales teams; support quotation and negotiation activities Technical Proposal & Specification Support - Support alignment of technical specifications and customer requirement responses Project Management - Lead initiatives such as new product introductions, cost optimization, and process improvements Marketing, Competitor Analysis & Business Intelligence - Analyze market trends and customer needs; prepare reports and strategic insights Sales Activity Enhancement (including customer visits) - Actively engage with clients and drive execution of commercial strategies

Mandatory:
Minimum 5 years of experience in the marine or industrial machinery manufacturing industry Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English Proven experience in team leadership or management, including operational execution and team development High sense of responsibility, proactive mindset, and strong problem-solving skills Analytical thinking and structured decision-making based on data
Preferred:
Experience in sales, sales support, or marketing Familiarity with SAP Knowledge of Stern Tube Seals & Bearings or mechanical seal products in the marine industry or related fields
