As a Quality Assurance Manager, you will be responsible for managing the QA team to ensure the quality and reliability of Concentra’s software applications across multiple platforms (web, desktop, API, and mobile). This role focuses on people management, strategic test planning, coordination of manual and automated testing, and implementation of automation and performance testing initiatives. You will assist QA leadership with modernization of the QA organization.

Responsibilities Test Planning and Design:Advanced understanding of QA methodologies and processes used throughout the software development industry.Assist in the development of comprehensive test plans, test strategies, and test cases based on functional and technical specifications.Assist QA leadership in the management of manual and automated testing efforts to maintain and improve QA testing effectiveness. Champion the adoption of automated testing and frameworks.Manage testing efforts by taking ownership of large testing initiatives.Coordinate the use of test environments (QA, Staging, Training).Participate in defining, leading, and auditing progress in quality initiatives for the QA organization.Team Management:Manage multiple QA team members across multiple projects and applications.Manage cross-functional testing activities of multiple QA team members across multiple applications.Ability to identify key interdependencies between applications to minimize risk during testing.Manage large scale and complex testing projects.Conduct 1-on-1 meetings with QA team members.Manage QA team member workloads.Drive team and individual training initiatives for QA team members.Provide regular constructive feedback on performance/development and address poor/mediocre performance on a timely manner for QA team members.Collaboration:Partner with developers, QA, and product owners to understand project requirements, prioritize testing efforts, identify potential requirement gaps, and conduct test case reviews.Work closely with QA and development team members during the software development lifecycle to understand features, provide feedback on potential issues, and ensure quality deliverables.Participate in creating test strategies and plans, estimating testing efforts, and identifying potential risks.Provide guidance, support, and training to QA team members to help improve their overall development and performance to maximize their talent.Work with QA leadership to establish and enforce QA best practices, guidelines, and standards across all QA teams.Ability to communicate complex technical QA concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Adhere and enforce all QA industry best practices and standards.Quality Metrics & Reporting:Communicate and report testing progress, issues, defects, and results effectively to management and stakeholders.Provide recommendations to QA leadership for improvements to QA processes to enhance software quality.Perform test coverage analysis of overall testing for each team to ensure that each
application is thoroughly tested.Work with QA leadership to establish reporting guidelines for each QA team.Define and enforce adherence to QA testing standards, best practices, strategies, and KPIs across the QA organization.Track defect rates, regression velocity, automation coverage, and leakage. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent education and experienceIn lieu of undergraduate degree, the ratio is 1:1 meaning one year of college equals one year of work experience and vice versa10+ years of experience in software quality assurance testing roles based on the following experience.At least 10+ years of experience with software testing operating in a CI/CD environment.At least 10+ years of testing experience with desktop and/or web applications developed with at least one of the following: C#, Java, C, ASP.NET, Python, JavaScript, Power Builder, Web Services and API development, WebLogic.At least 10+ years of experience using Project and Test Management tools (Jira, Zephyr, TestRail).At least 5+ years managing QA teams in an agile testing environment.At least 5+ years managing manual and automated QA teams.Hands-on understanding of test automation, performance testing, and observability tools.Previous health care industry experience within both the provider and payer markets is a plus.Previous experience with high volume EMR, PMS, and ERP applications is a plus.

Job Related Skills/Competencies

Job Technical Skills:Experience with manual non-functional, functional, integration, and regression testing.Experience creating and executing test plan, test, and test scripts.Advanced knowledge of usability, compatibility, and negative testing techniques.Knowledge of Agile methodologies and frameworks (Scrum, SAFE).Understanding of how QA fits into software development lifecycles.Knowledge of QA testing methodologies and tools.Ability to troubleshoot complex issues, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions.Extensive experience creating detailed QA documentation.Maintain a high level of proficiency with the company’s core applications.Experience working with test case management tools (Zephyr, TestRail, etc.).Expert SQL skills are required.Expert API testing experience is required.Experience with automated testing is a required.Advanced experience with SauceLabs, or similar tools is preferred Additional Data
