Global Real Estate and Workplace Experience (GREWE) is a global team at American Express (Amex) responsible for the full lifecycle of planning, execution, and operations of Amex real estate. GREWE supports over 75,000 Amex colleagues and contractors in over eight million square feet of property located in 59 countries. Our real estate portfolio consists of large full-service campuses, office buildings, sales offices, airport lounges and data centers. The global GREWE team is comprised of ~100 Amex full time staff that leverage ~5,000 contractors and is part of the broader Global Servicing Group organization which delivers shared business services to colleagues across the enterprise. **Global Leadership and Governance Responsibilities**

This position supports all phases of design and construction for complex building projects, with a focus on building systems and infrastructure **.** This role is integral to ensuring the seamless coordination and execution of both **base** building and interior fit-out components, from design development through to operational readiness and handover. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of building systems integration to help deliver operational excellence at project completion. This includes expertise in all aspects of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, as well as managing IT, Security & Building Automation systems.
This individual will manage the engineering & infrastructure aspects working closely with the Director of Engineering and Design and the Project Team to translate business needs into engineering designs. reporting and risk mitigation, including core and shell design oversight and interior fit-out coordination.
A suitable candidate for this role will have experience in Property Management, Facilities Management and large scale complex commercial office projects.
**Other deliverables include:**
+ Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure constructability, maintainability, and alignment with operational goals.
+ Review and provide feedback on design documents related to MEP systems, IT infrastructure, vertical transportation, life safety, and other critical building systems.
+ Benchmarking to include external perspectives in the design
+ Participate in design coordination meetings and support the resolution of cross-discipline clashes or scope gaps.
+ Act as the technical liaison between the project management team, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders for all building systems and infrastructure.
+ Monitor and report on construction progress, quality, and compliance for both base building and fit-out works.
+ Assist in managing RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and change orders related to building systems.
+ Collaborate with Facilities, IT, and Operations teams to prepare for occupancy and day-one functionality.
+ Coordinate training sessions, O&M documentation collection, and handover packages for long-term maintenance.
+ Lead or support building systems punch lists, startup activities, and transition-to-operations efforts
**Major Duties & Responsibilities:**
+ Liaise with key business partners including IT, Security, Building Automation & Sustainability to standards and ensure requirements clearly defined
+ Review and comment on design drawings and specifications
+ Identify system conflicts or gaps
+ Participate in design and value engineering workshops
+ Monitor construction activities for building system
+ Ensure scope alignment between base build and fitout
+ Track progress and escalate technical issues
+ Coordinate building system interfaces between landlord and tenant works-
+ Review fitout contractor submittals and shop drawings-
+ Manage fitout milestone alignment
+ Support development of commissioning plans and schedules
+ Attend FAT/SAT, witness tests
+ Verify system performance and integration across disciplines
+ Coordinate training and O&M documentation
+ Support creation and closure of punch lists
+ Interface with facilities and operations teams for transition planning
+ Maintain logs for RFIs, submittals, change orders
+ Generate progress and technical reports
+ Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement processes
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ 10 years’ experience managing engineering projects for large commercial or corporate real estate office environments
+ 10 years’ experience in property management or facility management including the management of third-party vendors
+ 10 years’ work experience engineering or property management in commercial or corporate real estate portfolios, with a clear understanding of the project process and building systems.
+ Deep knowledge of real estate, facilities, and engineering
+ Ability to write and communicate clear and compelling business cases, analyses and program plans, tailored various stakeholder groups
+ Proactive critical thinking and qualitative/quantitative problem-solving skills (issue identification, problem structuring, analysis, development of recommendations)
+ Ability to easily partner with and collaborate across large project teams of internal and external stakeholders
+ Strong team player, ability to take direction and remain flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
+ University/Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in Engineering, Infrastructure and Building Systems management or equivalent.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits
