The Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science Undergraduate Studies Department at the University of Miami has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Manager, Programs to work on the Coral Gables campus.

Specific duties and responsibilities include:

FACULTY (Mentors)

Design and create engaging learning activities and compelling training content that enhances faculty mentor needsCreates supporting material/media (audio/video/etc.)Facilitate training sessions and workshops for faculty advisorsProvide Pop-Up and Drop-In session on specific topic and/or for individualsServe as a primary contact and support for faculty mentors throughout their mentoring roleRemain knowledgeable on academic and non-academic areas, procedures, policies within the different schools as well as UMConduct a thorough assessment to identify learning gaps and training needs within the Rosenstiel facultyEducate and assist new faculty hires with UM software, systems, procedures, and policies. Ensuring understanding and bridging the gap between graduate and undergraduate practices.

PROGRAM

Develop and Present workshops for student cohort benchmarks regularly each semesterProviding training events for research and career development (i.e. Poster Symposium, Hollings, 411/412, etc.)Manage program campaigns and communications for our students, Directors, and faculty mentors.Oversee creating career building experiences for Rosenstiel UndergraduatesServe as liaison between academic programs and Toppel career centerParticipate and play an active role in school events and programsCollaborate with Office Manager on Orientation effortsImplement and oversee exit interview process with our graduating senior. Collecting data to reinforce a stronger program and better understanding of students’ goals beyond the U.Create, employ, and document survey results of student transferring out of Rosenstiel.Maintain and manage the Academic Standing process flagging system, providing guidance to mentor, director, and students.Facilitate student outreach, volunteer, and internship opportunities within and outside Rosenstiel community; revitalize and formalize USOAR programCreate, maintain, and regularly update alumni database across programs and track student post-grad experiences Coordinate program-wide meetings, take minutes, and communicate updates to curriculum and/or changes in UG policies with faculty, staff, and students as neededMaintain database of all documents, communication, and information used for faculty and students for program campaigns and support.

ADMINISTRATIVE

Support the Assistant Dean in collaborating with campus partners such as the Center for Academic Navigation and Success, Canes Central, RTUM, and Transitional Advising.Provide and create reports for Assistant Dean and Directors to support departmental and program needsAssist Directors with SACS accreditation data collection and processingMaintain the DPR to reflect yearly updates to the curriculumMaintain the information within our program student academic websites. Working closely with Directors to ensure accuracy and Office Manager for updates.Participate in ongoing training and professional development programsMeet with prospective families and students during the academic and summer monthsPerform other duties as assigned related to the daily operations of the programMay be responsible for assigning, monitoring, and reviewing progress and accuracy of work; leading efforts and providing technical guidance on more complex issues.Oversee implementation and administration of policies and procedures for program.Assure quality control and make recommendations for improvement of work methods and technology to increase productivity.Oversee the assembly, compilation, and processing of routine and complex data and records for reports, studies, filing and storage.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field and 4 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.Commitment to the University’s core values.Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
