DUCATION/ EDUCACIÓN:

Required to have a Bachelor’s degree from a university in an Engineering or related field.  Desirable to have a Master’s degree in Operations, Administration, Project Management, or  etc.

 

EXPERIENCE/ EXPERIENCIA:

More than 8 years of professional experience in a similar industry, of which 2 years must be in positions of personnel supervision. Experience in the Medical Device industry, including ISO 13485 knowledge

 

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE (DESIRABLE) / CONOCIMIENTO ESPECIALIZADO (PREFERIBLE): 

Specifications and Blueprint management  Lean Manufacturing skills such as: Six Sigma, VSM, Problem Solving,etc. Costa Rica local legislation knowledge Strong skills supervising and coaching

RESPONSIBILITIES RELATED TO TEAM FUNCTION

Manage the activities, resourcing, and goals of the team to assure operational excellence The production team shall be able to manage product lines including performance of the manufacturing lines and making sure all procedures and goo manufacturing practices are followed (GMP’s) Communicate in a timely manner about needs detected on the production floor to ensure the correct execution of the schedule adherence. Monitor and adjust resources to accomplish schedule plans. Ensure that investigations, such as OOT, CAPA, IACA, are performed on time, in compliance with procedures, are appropriate to risk level of event, and drive towards root cause solutions.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES TO PEOPLE ON TEAM

Manage the goals of each supervisor to foster operational excellence and instill quality at the source while aligning with site operation objectives. Lead team building and engagement using approaches such as: One on one meetings, open sessions, recognition based on results, positive confrontation, open door policy, effective listening, assertive communication, among others, to foster an adequate work environment Provide resource and personnel administration for team and individuals including but not limited to: recruiting, job description development, Individual Development Plans (IDP) activities. Coordinate budget forecast, approval, monitoring of adherence, and assessment to adjust for the team. Support and promote the implementation of EHS programs to ensure people safety and environment health. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES TO CROSS FUNCTIONAL CUSTOMERS

Participate as a leader with cross functional colleagues to influence and impact overall approach to product quality, activities include containment meetings, planning meetings, significant event resolution, kaizen events Timely escalate important issues as required. Use escalation process throughout Corporate teams such as R&D, RA, DA, Marketing, Sales and others as required. Develop production team leaders who create actively engaged production team members who contribute to operational success while assuring compliance to processes and regulations. Lead, develop, control, analyze and communicate metrics on different meeting levels (1, 2 & 3), to foster operational excellence among current processes,  Support internal and external audits from Regulatory entities and Notified Bodies to guarantee the commercial distribution of products manufactured by Costa Rica facility. Support implementation of cost reduction projects  Maintain, improve, and simplify procedures, processes, and methods
