As the Manager of our Product Master Data Management team, you will lead a high-performing team responsible for handling and optimizing the quality, accuracy, and consistency of our product data across the organization. You will drive central initiatives to cleanse and standardize product data across various platforms, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards. This role requires building and developing a team that delivers outcomes using SCRUM framework in a collaborative and high-paced environment.
In this role, your responsibilities will be
Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing Product Master Data Management team, establishing clear objectives, accountability, and career development paths. Lead the development and implementation of enterprise-wide data governance strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure data integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements. Direct initiatives to modify and handle data structures and compatibility logic rules of product models for NI product offerings including Platform Systems/Advisors, Product Configurators, Accessories, and Software. Guide your team in performing data analysis and validation to identify and resolve data quality issues and inconsistencies. Establish and be responsible for regular data quality audits and advise the implementation of corrective actions as vital. Collaborate with executive leadership and multi-functional teams to identify strategic data governance priorities and champion data quality improvement initiatives. Partner with Product Planning to understand technical data specifications and lead the definition of product model dependencies and compatibility rule logic. Drive organizational change management to cultivate adoption of new data governance practices and systems across the company. Lead resource allocation and team capacity to support web releases for model changes and validate success of releases. Establish metrics and KPIs to measure data quality improvement and team performance. Provide strategic leadership in technology evaluation and implementation for master data management systems. Clearly communicate project status, results, and strategic objectives to executive leadership and collaborators.Who you are:
As the Manager of Product Master Data Management, you will play a strategic role in shaping the data governance culture of our organization. You will lead a team that collaborates closely with multi-functional departments, including Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Operations, and Analytics, to establish and carry out data governance policies and procedures. Your leadership experience in data analysis, data quality management, and product data governance will be instrumental in driving data integrity, enabling data-driven decision-making, and supporting the overall success of our product management initiatives.
Additionally, you will be responsible for leading your team in managing configuration models for our customer-facing sales portal, understanding system constraints, and maintaining and optimizing data structures. You will direct the development of common product interaction models and oversee the implementation of systems for integrating these models into our internal and external configurators and processes.
For this role, you will need:
BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience. Advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred. Confirmed leadership experience (minimum 5-7 years) in product data management and data governance, with at least 3 years in a management role. Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing teams in a technical environment. Good understanding of data management principles, data governance frameworks, and data quality management. Experience implementing or improving master data management systems and processes across an organization. Track record of successfully leading change management initiatives related to data governance. Experience in budget management and resource planning. Excellent collaborator management and communication skills. Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences. Experience working with and leading teams in a SCRUM/Agile methodology.Preferred qualifications that set you apart:
Experience with data governance system implementation and optimization. Proficiency in technical direction in the development of automation tools to drive team efficiency and data quality, such as with Python, or Microsoft Power Platform Proficiency in advising data analysis with tools such as SQL, Excel, and visualization tools like Power BI. Proven understanding of logical data flow and data structures to efficiently lead architectural decisions. Knowledge of programming concepts and pseudocode to efficiently coconnect withechnical teams. Experience in developing and implementing data standards across global organizations.
