Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

Supervise team of Reorder Buyers, evaluate their performance and facilitate targeted training plans for their developmental opportunities.  Ensure warehouse inventory is replenished on a timely basis, minimizing the number of out-of-stocks while managing inventory turns.Maximize ROI on forward-buy opportunities.Oversee the maintenance of buying system by reviewing lead times, buying brackets, forecasts, trends and seasonality.Collaborate with distribution center, merchandising, data integrity, accounting and our vendor partners on coordinating/resolving delivery issues, back-orders, back-hauls, sale items, merchandise returns, new items and product distributions.Identify and implement best practices for buying and forecasting.Creation of training programs and materials and implementation of training programs.Be available to Reorder Buyers to assist them in resolving issues.Partner with transportation departments on revenue generating ideas.Monitor proper execution of allocation items, MOQ’s, pack size changesMonitor and managing product into outside storage facilities and directing product from outside storage into the DC as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position is responsible to supervise a team of approximately 15 Reorder Buyer associates and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Weis Markets policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates; appraising associate performance; and resolving complaints.

Qualification Requirements

To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) Business, or related field, plus three (3) years’ experience in a support or customer service environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Experience with Biceps, Retalix HQ, CGO, Category Analyzer/Billback Manager preferred.  Aptitude in Microsoft Excel is required.
