Manager, Procurement

The Procurement Category Manager is responsible for a $130M annual spend and for managing HR services suppliers across the enterprise to reduce risk, capitalize on economies of scale, and negotiate best commercial terms for the organization. The Procurement Category Manager analyzes data holistically, creates strategies to drive total value across multiple categories, ensures buy-in and alignment with stakeholders, and tactically implements sourcing strategies to drive results.
Major Job Responsibilities:
\u2022 Develop category strategies and strategic plans leveraging market and spend data, information about suppliers, competitors, industry trends, and the company\u2019s needs
\u2022 Create and manage the strategic procurement and sourcing process for categories, including RFP, supplier award, project tracking to approved capital budget, reporting, final project summary, and project wrap up
\u2022 Perform assessments of suppliers and vendors to identify risks and implications
\u2022 Clearly articulate the value of the category strategy and how it aligns to the organization\u2019s objectives
\u2022 Gather, cleanse, and analyze data from multiple systems to generate insights and recommendations that drive decision-making
\u2022 Interpret and manage contracts with suppliers
\u2022 Measure and track results and outcomes using data from multiple systems, acting when necessary to align to targets and goals
\u2022 Maintain project charter, timelines, and milestones to ensure that all parties are informed, consulted, and contributing to the project
\u2022 Develop strategies to mitigate risks (including categorization of type of threat - financial, M&A, innovation, and growth), breadth of impact, and mitigation recommendations
\u2022 Create and deliver presentations to stakeholders and leadership articulating the value of a category strategy or opportunity, the implementation approach, and intended results aligned to organizational goals/objectives

Experience:
\u2022 Required: minimum 5 years job-related work experience in procurement/sourcing
\u2022 Required: Sales history of building relationships and rapport with customers
\u2022 Preferred: Project Management experience
\u2022 Preferred: Operations, manufacturing, or supply chain experience
Education:
\u2022 Required: Bachelor\u2019s degree in business, supply chain, marketing, or engineering
\u2022 Preferred: Six Sigma Certification
\u2022 Preferred: Certifications in procurement or sourcing (e.g. CPP, CPN)
