We are seeking an experienced and strategic Procurement Manager to join our team. As the Manager, Procurement, you will be responsible for sourcing, supplier management, negotiation, and strategic management for packaging. This role will focus on developing and executing category strategies, driving cost savings, supplier relationships and ensuring performance across the supplier base. Additionally, you will drive process standardization, continuous process improvement, and cost savings, across the enterprise.
How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:
Develop and implement category strategies, aligned with overall procurement and business objectivesLead supplier selection, negotiations, and contract management to ensure cost savings, quality and timely deliveryManage supplier relationships, including performance management, risk assessments and continuous improvement initiativesMonitor market analysis and benchmarking to identify trends, opportunities and supply chain risks to mitigate potential disruptionsCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Planning, and Logistics to align capabilities with business needsImprove supply chain assurance through a thorough understanding of market drivers that impact the timely delivery of goods and services to our manufacturing sites for the best value.Drive the standardization of procurement processes through stakeholder engagement and alignment across all business segments to ensure we optimize our purchasing power and create transactional efficiency.
What you need to succeed:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (MBA or Master’s degree preferred) Minimum 5 years of procurement experience with at least 3+ years in packaging or direct materials procurement in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment. Proven experience in category management and strategic sourcingStrong negotiation, contract management and supplier relationship management skillsAbility to easily build relationships with stakeholders and resolve potential conflictsProven ability to negotiate and manage complex contracts with key suppliers Strong communication skills, ability to develop relationships, and lead through change. Ability to work across multiple teams and lead through influence.What we offer:
