Manager, Performance Marketing (Open to remote)

Penguin Random House Consumer Marketing is seeking a Manager to join the Performance Marketing team, part of the centralized Advertising team. The Performance Marketing team is responsible for providing divisional marketing teams with ad campaign reporting and benchmarking, first-party audience segmentation and strategy, and actionable recommendations for optimizing campaign performance; working in partnership with their Paid Media Strategy & Ad Operations counterparts to maximize the impact of title advertising efforts.

 

The Manager, Performance Marketing, will serve as a strategic partner to the Random House Children’s Books group while working to drive advertising performance across the marketing funnel.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced digital advertiser or performance marketer to be a part of an innovative, strategic, supportive, and growth-oriented Advertising team at the heart of the largest trade book publisher in the US.

 

Specific responsibilities include:   

Compiles weekly, monthly, quarterly, half-year and annual performance reports to inform future strategy and drive marketing effectiveness. Collaborates with title marketers and liaisons in the RHCB group and the Paid Media Strategy & Ad Operations teams, providing them with recommendations for optimizing performance and spend at the campaign, audience, and creative levels.    Establishes a deep understanding of RHCB’s marketing goals: familiarity with historical campaign performance, and knowledge of their publishing list to provide strategic guidance to support their titles and deliver strong performance that aligns with campaign goals. Leverages PRH’s suite of marketing tools to measure the impact of cross-channel ad campaigns. Determines and maintains benchmarks for key performance indicators across the marketing funnel from CPM to ROAS. Leads first-party audience targeting strategy for RHCB ad campaigns, including multicultural segmentation and activation, while adhering to consumer data privacy and security regulations.    Formulates and presents best practices, case studies, and advertising recommendations to marketing stakeholders, based on publishing priorities and marketing strategy. In partnership with Performance Marketing team lead, works with Paid Media Straegy & Ad Ops team and ad partners to understand platform capabilities and campaign needs from a performance marketing perspective; and works with Analytics and Data Marketing & Audience Operations teams to help including ad pixels and first-party data integration.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in performance marketing or digital advertising (Amazon, Meta, Google, TikTok, etc.), with experience in paid media analysis Ability to analyze and translate marketing data into helpful performance reports for marketing stakeholders, and to extract actionable insights to inform campaign plans Fluent in the language of digital marketing metrics and online measurement (CTR, CPM, ROAS, etc.)    Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, look-ups, etc.) and Microsoft PowerPoint Exceptional written, verbal, and virtual communication and presentation skills   Ability to work independently and prioritize own workload, managing multiple projects at once; as well as collaborate with and support efforts of the larger team    Strong organization skills and impeccable attention to detail Experience working with colleagues remotely, including presenting, leading meetings, and fostering relationships An eye for trends: both spotting them in data and identifying them in the advertising landscape    Curiosity and enthusiasm in learning and leveraging new marketing tools and technology Experience with the following tools and platforms a plus: Adobe or Google Analytics, Customer Data Platforms Experience working with kids’ books (board/picture books, middle grade, and/or YA) a plus 

 

The salary range for this position is $73,500 - $79,000. All positions are currently eligible for an annual profit award or bonus, subject to company results.

The salary range listed is specific to each particular open position and takes into account various factors including the specifics of the individual role, and candidate's relevant experience and qualifications.
