Your New Role…
Warner Bros. Discovery is searching for a Manager, New Joiner Experience to join the Global Business Services (GBS) People & Culture (P&C) team. In this role, the Manager leads a team of P&C Services associates responsible for providing a welcoming, informative, efficient, and compliant onboarding experience for those joining and growing within WBD as well as hiring managers.
The manager will oversee team resources, including people, tools, and technologies. Managing day-to-day operations for the New Joiner Experience Team and deliverables of the onboarding experience. This role is expected to continuously seek improvements as a subject matter expert, particularly with oversite of background policies and processes as well as compliance with applicable company or regional regulations.
Your Role Accountabilities…
Responsible for cultivating a welcoming, informative, efficient, and compliant onboarding experience for those joining and growing within WBD as well as hiring managers.Ensure collaborative working environment for the team to support knowledge sharing and effective balance of team capacity, capabilities, and services.Oversite of background policies and processes, including writing and management of policy and adjudication practices. In partnership with Legal partners and council.Development and ongoing maintenance of background requirements for creation of background packages, in partnership with upper management, Legal and P&C Partners.Manage background check escalations and decision review in partnership with upper management and Legal.Manage key communications with candidates/incoming new hires and transfers/promotions and hiring managers, ensuring these are completed in a timely manner concurrent with the hiring process.Manage background vendor relationship, including updates and enhancements of site in alignment of defined packages.Coordinate with WBD technology teams and background vendor, to implement and/or research new ideas for system enhancements or troubleshoot system issues.Responsible for country specific Right to Work verifications, background check compliance, and the processing of all new hires/Rehires and promotions/transfers in the region.Create and drive individual team service level agreements, objectives, and expectations that align with overall division and Company goals, in partnership with upper management.Ensure the team meets service-level agreements and works collaboratively with other Warner Bros. Discovery teams.Prioritize the workload and requests for team, working closely with other leaders within the broader team to ensure effective delivery and prioritization of duties and project support work.Act as management escalation to respond to requests for assistance and guidance on processes from customers, internal and external peers, and clients.Develop, train, mentor, and guide team members by providing feedback and growth opportunities to enhance current skillset and gain additional skills.Complete Performance reviews for direct reports to include feedback on performance objectives and expectations.Assist with Change Management efforts and support creation and/or maintenance of work instruction, process mapping, onboarding guides and process related documentation.Represent New Joiner Experience team as subject matter expert in meetings with stakeholders and projects.Qualifications & Experience…
7-10 years of overall work experience, which includes a minimum of 4 years HR experience and 2 years in a managerial or related role, preferably within an HR Operations, service provider and/or shared services environment.Bachelor’s degree in HR / business / related field or equivalent work experience. Equivalent experience (as an alternative to the qualification) is equal to 5 years of HR experience, preferably within an HR operations team/environment.Exceptional communication and customer service skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly at all levels. Must have flexible and adaptable attitude to cope with fast changing and complex environment.Highly motivated and self-starter, fast-paced with high level of energy and pro-active approach to work.Solid understanding and experience with HR Systems (Workday, ServiceNow, etc.) and ability to learn and understand various computer systems is required.Strong relationship building skills. Experienced in building and maintaining effective relations, recognized for reliability, integrity, and trustworthiness is required.Excellent planning, time management, prioritization, and follow-up skills. Has strong organizational and analytical skills with great attention to detail. Demonstrates ability to coach and develop team and create a strong employee culture.Ability to design and analyze performance metrics and interpret these into trends and data-led decisions/outcomes.Skilled in process improvements and problem solving, taking initiative to own work projects/tasks. Ability to manage ad hoc high-volume activities in a fast-paced environment independently.Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines on multiple projects or tasks concurrently.Experience with vendor relationship and site management is a plus.Proven track of record in working cross countries, in multicultural organizations is a plus.II.
