Manager, Multimedia and Camera

Preferred qualifications: + Experience owning project scoping and managing priorities, including allocating technical resources within the projects. + Knowledge of computer vision algorithms relevant to mixed reality (e.g., SLAM, VIO, 6DoF tracking, object recognition, hand/eye tracking). + Understanding of mobile imaging systems and module designs (image sensors, optics, mechanics, auto-focus, optical image stabilization, assembly processes, etc). + Understanding of image quality metrics and image quality evaluation. and also Working knowledge of audio systems. + Excellent communication, persuasion and negotiation skills in addition to being comfortable with working through ambiguities. + Knowledge of imaging system simulations and evaluation of simulation results. The MultiMedia Technical Lead and Camera Architect initiates and fosters collaboration between all cross-functional teams involved in delivering camera and audio hardware solutions to maximize performance and features for mixed reality head mount systems. They lead and direct a team of multimedia technology engineers (cameras, audio) to optimize visual sensing and audio hardware solutions with state of the art software providing market leading visual sensing and auditory performance and user experiences. Whether finding new ways to capture and sense the world around us, advancing form factors, or improving interaction methods, the Devices & Services team is making people's lives better through technology. + Lead, mentor, and manage (goal setting, performance management, and career development) a team of engineers developing camera and audio components for extended/mixed reality headsets. + Define optical sensing requirements and KPIs for multiple parallel sensor systems. + Define camera module design parameters (data path, control, and power connectivity) for design, validation, and production test. + Define audio system requirements and KPIs with cross-functional team.Specify audio components with a cross functional team and lead the internal characterization of vendor audio components. + Work closely with internal software teams and external SoC vendors to define hardware abstraction layer and camera-service improvements. Apply understanding of system power and performance deficiencies to land next-generation sensor and SOC design.
