What's the opportunity?
Our RBC Personal and Commercial Operations (PCO), Operational Risk, Control Governance Office (CGO) team is currently hiring a Manager, Monitoring & Testing Development. We strive to amplify control practices that drive consistency across the Personal Business and Commercial Businesses. You will report to the Sr. Mgr. Monitoring & Testing Development to drive data and reporting Control Management activities. You will deliver and execute the development of the Monitoring and Testing program. You will be part of a team of data expert and provide support and development of the different program. You will be working in partnership with peers in Operational Risk, and business partners. You will also be accountable for developing, maintaining and designing the monitoring protocols to ensure Operational Risk ecosystem of data base test programs are operating effectively while managing the team’s key deliverables.
What will you do?
Develop complex Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) queries to test key risk controls against a business requirementWork with Manager, Enterprise Control Testing team to retrieve and provide require data set for Sample base test executionCoordinate quality assurance and back testing to determine that data provided meets business requirementsEnsure data-based queries produced load on time and correctly to the various workflow applications used by the vetting teamsSupport different departments within Operational Risk and Enterprise Control Testing with data related inquiries and issuesBe a member of the data accuracy committee, where issues are identified, recommendations are discussed, challenged, and implementedPrioritize work to address regulatory, audit issues, and be main point of contact for any technology related questions as part of audit walkthroughsActively communicate and interact frequently with RBC partners and/or employees located across Canada and/or globallyWhat you need to succeed
Must have
Degree in a quantitative field of study3+ years related work experience in Data analyticsStrong expertise in data querying tools and advance skills in Python, SAS, SQLExperience using Teradata EDW and Enterprise Data Lake to obtain Personal Business and Commercial Businesses dataKnowledge of RBC risk management framework and applications to data and analyticsSolid verbal communication skills, and ability to effectively converse with both technical and non-technical contactsProven analytical and problem-solving skillsAdvanced knowledge of risk and control identification and assessmentProactive in identifying control weaknesses and proposing solutionsNice to have
