Position Summary
Manage development and governance of overall media plans across SpartanNash’s footprint, ensuring alignment to marketing objectives for retail banners, independent grocers and OwnBrands. Responsible for planning, coordinating and executing all media-related initiatives in partnership with business owners and media agencies. This role ensures effective delivery of campaigns and oversees media budgets. Focuses on operational excellence, process optimization and data integrity to support marketing effectiveness and ROI.
Here's what you'll do:
Media Vision & Strategy
Develop and implement comprehensive media strategies that align with marketing goals across various company segments including retail, independent grocers and own brands in partnership with business owners and media agencies.
Drive communications planning and media buying strategy across all paid channels including television, radio, print, out-of-home, digital, social, and mobile media with internal business owners and external agencies.
Media Operations & Innovation
Leverage media measurement system that measures all media (national, retailer, etc.) and provides actionable reporting to drive year on year improvements of key metrics like iROAS.
Track key metrics, campaign results and make adjustments to improve performance.
Leverage insights, learnings, and modeling to help determine the right channel mix by region, segment and target.
Leverage data tactics across channels to further bolster the data-informed portions of our plans with personalized messaging served at the right mindset.
Remain on the cutting edge of understanding and implementing emerging media channels and strategies.
Team Leadership & Excellence
Manage media agencies to ensure that strategies and plans deliver against business objectives and create impact in the marketplace.
Ensure tests are included as appropriate to drive innovation and improvement in media’s contribution to business growth.
Collaborate with internal teams and agencies to implement tools and streamline media processes. Present best practices and planning guidelines.
Own media budget tracking, invoicing, and compliance with financial and legal guidelines ensuring effective allocation of resources.

Here's what you'll need:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Media, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA is preferred.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Experience
Minimum 4+ years of experience in marketing or a related field.
Minimum 5+ years in leadership roles, demonstrating expertise in media management, strategic planning, and team leadership.
3+ years of enhanced experience in advertising tactics in digital, media, or print (preferred).
Skills & Abilities
Deep understanding of media platforms and technology partners.
Understanding of performance digital marketing and full funnel execution.
Excellent organizational, presentation, written and verbal skills based on previous experience.
Ability to meet with internal and external agencies and deploy campaigns through digital, media and print, analyzing and providing actionable insights.
Travel Requirements
Willingness to travel, including overnight stays, up to 25% depending on business needs.
