Manager, Material Handling (Onsite)
As the Manager, Material Handling (Onsite), you will lead and inspire a high-performing team dedicated to enhancing safety, optimizing material flow, and aligning operations with external warehouse partners. Your leadership will be critical in ensuring uninterrupted material supply by collaborating closely with Manufacturing Operations, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), and third-party logistics providers. In this pivotal role, you’ll champion employee engagement, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and apply your expertise in materials flow to deliver cross-functional solutions that fuel operational excellence and elevate customer satisfaction. Success in this role requires strong communication, strategic thinking, analytical insights, and negotiation skills to lead a team of leaders and influence impactful outcomes across the supply chain. + Drive the vision and strategic direction for material handling and flow, aligning with safety standards and lean manufacturing principles. + Translate business goals into actionable plans that achieve target outcomes and improve operational efficiency. + Lead the discovery and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging industry best practices and benchmarking insights. + Oversee and optimize material movement strategies across internal and external warehouse locations to ensure seamless flow. + Champion cost-saving initiatives and cross-functional improvement projects that enhance material handling operations. + Track and manage key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring alignment with broader organizational objectives and performance goals. + Ensure timely ordering and availability of factory materials to meet production demands while maintaining optimal inventory levels. + Provide input on budget planning, including recommendations for capital expenditures, labor resources, and cost optimization. + Lead team engagement and execution of physical inventory processes, driving accuracy, accountability, and on-time results. **Required Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Operations, or a related technical field required + 5 years of experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or technical environment + 3 years of people leadership experience, demonstrating effective team management and operational execution in a business setting **Preferred Qualifications** + Demonstrated experience in Power Industrial Vehicle (PIV) safety practices and compliance + Proficiency in lean principles, material flow optimization, and structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., A3, 5 Whys, DMAIC) + Hands-on experience with MRP systems and familiarity with supply chain tools such as Kanban, Just-in-Time (JIT), forecasting, inventory control, contract negotiation, bills of material (BOM), and product lifecycle management Health benefits include: Medical and prescription drug insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, critical illness insurance, accident insurance, hospital indemnity insurance, personalized healthcare support, wellbeing program and tobacco cessation program.
