Manager, Marketing Data Strategy
The Manager of Marketing Data Strategy will be responsible for strategic direction, implementation, expansion, and enterprise adoption of next-generation marketing data and analytics capabilities. This individual contributor and subject matter expert, will be part of the Enterprise Data, Analytics and Insights (EDAI) organization within Ameriprise, supporting Direct to Consumer, Digital Experience, and Marketing Analytics teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Ownership

Own a purpose-driven vision for suite of AEP products: Adobe Experience Platform, RTCDP, CJA, and lead the development and implementation of these tools to meet EDAI use cases

Partner with Direct-to-Consumer Analytics on platform support for Adobe Journey Optimizer & Adobe Target.

Translate enterprise goals into platform strategies and prioritized use cases

Assess organizational readiness and align data strategy, governance, and resources accordingly.

Own the backlog of user stories, define acceptance criteria, and lead sprint planning with development teams.

Partner with engagement leads, analytics practitioners, MarTech, and data teams to align goals, use cases, and technical feasibility.

Monitor data ingestion and query limits and ensure Ameriprise stays under limit. Distribute usage report monthly.

Develop and maintain documentation, including standard operating procedures, training materials, and best practice guides.

Integrate “data as a product” principles to ensure reusability, scalability, and business impact

Ensure data models (e.g., XDM), identity stitching, and schema design support roadmap priorities.

Governance & Enablement

Establish strong governance for data quality, privacy compliance, and, CCPA requests.

Assist with audits and risk control activities.

Access management, permissions, and user grouping strategy across Ameriprise affiliates: Ameriprise Wealth Management, Ameriprise Bank, & Columbia Threadneedle North America. 

Democratize insights by supporting self-service analytics through training, reusable templates, and role-based access.


Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in data science, analytics, statistics, economics or relevant

5+ years of statistical and/or data analytics experience


Preferred Qualifications

Deep knowledge of Adobe CJA, AEP, Real-Time CDP, Web SDK, identity resolution frameworks, AI/machine-learning models, data integration, audience segmentation, and activation throughout the martech and adtech ecosystem.

5+ years of relevant experience using Adobe Experience Platform RT-CDP (Real-Time Customer Data Platform).

Experience in the financial services industry.

Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and mentor team members.

Strong aptitude toward communicating complex business and technical concepts using visualization and modeling aids.

Base Pay Salary

The estimated base salary for this role is $94,400 - $162,800 / year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
