Manager, Market Development - Kansas

They can send you a link to apply directly so they can receive credit! **Job Posting End Date: August 8, 2025** The Manager of Market Development will report to the Director of Commercial, KGS, to support Kansas Gas Service’s commercial efforts. The manager of market development will be responsible for executing our growth strategy across Kansas, including but not limited to economic development, industrial, commercial, residential, and agriculture sectors. This role will also be responsible for promoting and maintaining a positive company image through strategic engagement with development stakeholders. This role involves building strong relationships with key influencers, monitoring growth trends throughout the state, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to lead and execute our growth strategy. A strong understanding of macroeconomic growth indicators and big-picture market trends throughout Kansas is essential for success in this role. **This position can be located in either Wichita or Overland Park.** **What You Will Do** Develop and implement sales strategy for residential, commercial, and industrial markets. Responsible for market development, new account acquisition and face to face meetings within the confined geography to meet the customer's needs. Supervise market development representatives and other market development staff. Analyze, develop and implement customer sales strategy Identify key growth partners and implement communication strategy: + Trade shows + Direct mailings + Advertising + Personal contacts + Partnerships Manage growth mapping and planning in collaboration with other departments. Develop, organizes, and monitors/controls O&M and Capital budgets. Present commercial deal structures to senior management for approval of capital projects. Actively coach, develop and mentor direct reports through the establishment of individual development plans. Develop team plans to drive performance results, enhance overall leadership competencies, business performance and enhance collaboration across work groups. Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job. Employee may perform additional responsibilities as assigned. **What You Will Need** Bachelor's degree in business, economics, marketing, or related field, or an equivalent combination of formal education and job-related experience. Thorough knowledge of operating and market development policies and procedures. Experience working with local and state industrial economic development programs and improving trade programs. Application of basic math. Experience in use and function of office equipment including computers and applicable software. Experience and training related to public speaking and interpersonal communication skills and development programs. Experience researching and preparing reports, advertising copy, budgets, and correspondence. Experience developing information, conducting tours, and making presentations. Experience reviewing and interpreting journals, publications, governmental regulations, pending legislation, and correspondence. Experience interacting, negotiating, advising, and communicating effectively internally and externally. Experience representing company in contacts with public officials and potential commercial or industrial customers and trade allies. Demonstrated ability to identify and analyze potential gas markets and develop and present marketing strategies. Experience leading, directing, training, and/or supervising. Read and write fluently in English. Applicable driver's license. Requires travel to various locations. Mobility to travel in and around office facilities. Communicate and exchange information or instructions; conduct oral presentations and meetings.
