We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon. As a Manager, Manufacturing Science & Technology Engineering supporting the MTO Product Engineering Team in Houston, TX, a typical day will include:
Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring productivity and alignment with departmental objectives.
Develop, implement, and evaluate new production materials, equipment, and technologies before mass production.
Complete manufacturing research and development to solve production cost and quality issues and conduct technical feasibility tests to ensure production efficiency.
Evaluate project capacity for production process design and development.
Develop and implement standard manufacturing procedures and evaluate production processes to reduce overall costs and determine product quality standards.
Arrange equipment and tools to support production.
Foster a culture of excellence by leading performance management, driving talent development, and enhancing employee engagement and recognition.
Select and communicate with vendors to determine product specifications and ensure products are delivered within approved timelines and budget.
Engage with partner functions such as research and development, commercial, and quality.
Make operational decisions for the team, managing resources and schedules.
Adhere to Good Practice (GxP) regulations by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring quality control.
Complete all required training and contribute to organizational compliance.
Commit to continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+1 yr)
The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
5 Years of Relevant Experience
3 Years of Demonstrated Leadership
