Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
NBCUniversal’s Advertising Sales & Partnerships organization is looking for a Manager of Insights & Measurement to join the Sports & Olympics team. The Manager will drive the ongoing development of data-driven insights to support advertising & sponsorship sales for NBCUniversal’s unmatched sports properties, with a focus on key tentpole properties including the Olympics and FIFA Men’s World Cup.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, as well as the ability to anticipate, interpret, and support stakeholder needs. They should also be able to work independently on a collaborative team and thrive in a fast-paced environment. This person should have experience using research to develop actionable insights and effective storytelling; a passion for Olympics/Sports; and a thorough understanding of both marketing and media.
Responsibilities
+ Support the Sports & Olympics Insights & Measurement team in the creation of actionable insights, reports, presentations, and marketing materials to help drive revenue for NBC Sports tentpoles, including the Olympics & FIFA Men’s World Cup
+ Utilize both syndicated and custom research tools to effectively convey the value proposition of partnering with NBCUniversal across distribution platforms (linear, digital/Peacock, and social media)
+ Respond to day-to-day requests for data and metrics from across the NBCUniversal Ad Sales organization and proactively disseminate insights that help support the Sports & Olympics sales narrative
+ Craft real-time proactive, thought-provoking, external-facing insights during the Olympics & FIFA Men’s World Cup throughout the competition
+ Develop content, consumer and category insights to support marketing opportunities based on audience delivery and profiles, buying behavior, and ad spending analyses
+ Demonstrate advertisers’ return on investing in media and sponsorship, using campaign results
+ Collaborate across the rest of the Insights & Measurement organization, as well as with Sports Sales, Marketing, Creative Partnerships, and Strategy to develop internal- and external-facing materials
+ Work with Research counterparts on the Brand and Digital teams to leverage internal knowledge and insights with a sales-focused mindset
Basic Requirements:
+ 3-6 years Research experience at a media company, agency, or vendor
+ Bachelor’s Degree
+ Strong experience with TV/digital measurement and syndicated research tools preferred (e.g., Nielsen NPower, Adobe Analytics, TV Brand Effect, Lake5, MRI, YouGov, ListenFirst, TalkWalker, comScore, etc.)
+ Background in analytics and knowledge of media math a plus
+ Experience with quantitative/qualitative primary research methodologies, survey design and analysis a plus
+ Excellent computer skills, particularly PowerPoint and Excel (formatting, creating charts/graphs, pivot tables, formulas, etc.)
+ Experience translating complex data sets from a variety of sources into simple, concise insights
+ Willingness to partner with fast-paced, high-performing internal partners

+ Flexibility to work outside of typical business hours around key tentpole events, as necessary
Additional Requirements:
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
