Your Role at Baxter

The Manager, Human Factors is responsible for leading the development and implementation of human factors engineering principles to ensure the safety, usability, and effectiveness of Baxter Healthcare products and systems. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Research and Development, Engineering, and Clinical Affairs, to design and develop products that meet the needs of healthcare professionals and patients.

What You'll be doing

Develop and implement human factors engineering strategies to support the development of safe and effective productsLead the human factors team to ensure the delivery of high-quality human factors engineering servicesCollaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement organizational human factors goals and objectivesConduct human factors assessments and usability testing to identify and mitigate potential risks and usability issuesDevelop and implement human factors design guidelines and standardsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop products that meet human factors engineering requirementsEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements related to human factors engineering, including FDA guidelines and ISO 13485Develop and maintain human factors documentation, including user manuals, instructions for use, and labelingDevelop and deliver training programs to educate employees on human factors engineering principles and best practicesCollaborate with other departments to ensure that human factors engineering principles are integrated into the organization's overall quality management systemCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including Research and Development, Engineering, and Clinical Affairs, to ensure that human factors engineering principles are integrated into product developmentCommunicate human factors engineering findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including product development teams, regulatory agencies, and customers


What You'll Bring

Bachelor's/Master's degree in Human Factors Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field12+ years of experience in human factors engineering, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership roleProven track record of leading human factors engineering teams and developing and implementing human factors strategiesStrong knowledge of human factors engineering principles, including usability testing, human-centered design, and risk analysisExcellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teamsExperience with regulatory requirements related to human factors engineering, including FDA guidelines and ISO 13485Strong leadership and management skillsExcellent communication and collaboration skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced environmentExperience with human factors engineering tools and software, including usability testing and human-centered design tools

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $120,000 to $165,000 plus an annual incentive bonus. The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
