Job Description:
Baptist Health is looking for a Manager, Hospital Coding to join their team in Louisville.
Manages all hospital inpatient and outpatient coding functions ensuring that departmental goals and objectives are met. Provides training and ongoing feedback to all coders regarding individual work performance and functional objectives. Monitors incoming workload and adjusts staffing to provide optimal efficiency while maintaining delayed claims and generated claims on hold at or below optimal level. Maintains a current knowledge of coding rules, coding clinic updates, CMS regulations and updates, DRG changes, CPT guidelines, LCD/NCD requirements and all aspects of Hospital Coding operations. Keeps current on departmental policies regarding coding and claim edits and performs other duties as assigned. Identifies problem areas, analyzes the situation, and assists Director in developing and implementing process improvements. Promotes corporate integrity through compliance with the BHS Corporate Responsibility Program.
Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required
Associate degree
Five years of hospital coding experience of multiple disciplines using EHR and Encoder including three years in a supervisory or auditing role.
Microsoft Office proficiency, public speaking experience, EHR and Encoder experience
RHIA or RHIT and CCS, AHIMA membership
