Manager, Global Security Operations Center

We’re looking for a Global Security Operations Center Manager to join our team! As a member of Snap’s Global Security team, you will aid in creating and iterating on processes and procedures that directly assist in protecting Snap’s team members, offices, and technologies. Working from our Santa Monica, CA headquarters, you’ll lead a 24/7 GSOC team that supports all Snap enterprises worldwide. Additionally, you’ll develop and maintain our security technology capabilities and optimize our security preparedness and emergency response.

What you’ll do:

Provide oversight and direction to the team members assigned to the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC), supervising performance behavior and results based on established operating procedures, guidelines, and expectations

Oversee monitoring of and notifications/communications for security incidents, crisis response operations, and emerging threats impacting Snap people, facilities, and global operations

Ensure the protection and support of our employees and assets through close coordination with our Intelligence and Risk Analysis, Crisis Management, and Security Operations teams and other business process service providers

Ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained and personnel are trained to fulfill critical functions at all times, with a focus on development and career pathing

Administer and interface with security technology systems for global sites, to include access control, badging, intrusion detection, video analytics, incident management and CCTV elements 

Coordinate budgets and vendor relationships as assigned

Serve as the first line of escalation for the Regional Security Operations Center, Control Rooms, and security officers globally, ensuring communication, cross training, support, and operational fundamentals are achieved

Use technology, reporting, and investigative skills to lead response to security-related requests and resolve cases in a timely manner

Develop and implement procedures as it relates to benchmarking and industry trends specific to technology, automation, directives, and standard operating procedures

Be responsible for the training, metrics, and quality control elements of all GSOC products

Provide strategic direction and lead GSOC team members in all activities and emerging issues, while establishing a program that will scale to Snap’s business needs

Seek out innovative solutions to enhance GSOC operations in partnership with Security Operations, Intelligence & Risk Analysis, Environmental Health & Safety, and Crisis Management team members.  

Other ad hoc duties or special projects as identified by leadership

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Leadership skills, with an emphasis on customer service and collaboration

Strong communication and social skills to work with all levels of the organization

Experience working in building out security control centers to support global locations

Experience developing or providing intelligence capabilities in a GSOC setting

Consistent track record of using security technology and computer systems (Google Suite, Lenel, Incident Management Systems (Everbridge/VCC, ISOS), CCTV platforms (Milestone), travel security platforms, and radio dispatch systems)

Strong understanding in incident response, crisis management, incident management, emergency response, and employee notification systems.

Ability and desire to conduct creative problem solving and develop new standard procedures and training programs that scale with business operations

Ability to ensure operational compliance, monitor global assets, and manage rapid notifications via mass communication tools

Professional, eloquent, and use of good independent judgment and discretion

Superb ability to maintain correspondence, discussions, and materials with the strictest confidence

Strong ability to operate autonomously, and use discretion when dealing with sensitive information

Advanced time management, ability to multitask, and strong attention to detail

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, homeland security, political science, international relations, security/intelligence studies, or a related field

5+ years as a Manager within a Command Center, GSOC, Emergency Operations Environment, or similar environment

Ability to stay on your feet for extended periods of time and lift up to 30 lbs to support emergency response, incident management, and/or physical security operations 

5+ years of people management experience

This role requires regular onsite work at a Snap Office Location, at minimum 5 days a week 

Flexibility to work non-traditional schedules including holidays, nights, and weekends to adapt to our 24/7 operation

Preferred qualifications:

5+ years in an operational security leadership role

Master’s degree in a related field 

Industry certifications in related fields which include but are not limited to security management, incident and crisis management, intelligence, and investigations

Strong familiarity and existing relationships with GSOCs, incident response centers, and/or emergency response centers in both the public and private sectors 

Current CPR and Basic First Aid certification

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):

The base salary range for this position is $157,000-$235,000 annually.


 

Zone B:

The base salary range for this position is $149,000-$223,000 annually.

Zone C:

The base salary range for this position is $133,000-$200,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
