About the Role

The Manager, Global Logistics Finance will provide leadership in the global strategy development, business process design and operational execution on the finance side of Harman’s global logistics network. Key responsibility is the management of the Freight Bill Audit & Pay (FBAP) activities with an external provider.

This position reports to the Director Automotive Logistics and has no direct reports.

  

What you will do

Management of Global Freight Bill Audit & Payment (FBAP) provider and it’s activities, including:Oversight of the receiving and timely processing of invoicesBeing first point of contact for external FBAP provider and Harman forwarders on all invoice related questionsAnalytic reporting across all services and modes of transportationPartner with Business units and functional owners to explore and understand root cause behind logistics spending – identify opportunities for improvement, cost savingsGain internal BU and regional alignment to include all modes of transportation and capture 100% of the global logistics spend within the FBAP processAnalyze/validate the logistics budget versus actual cost differences on plant levelWork with the external FBAP provider, Harman Shared Services and business unit finance teams to prompt issue resolution and corrective actionsSupport a global redesign of the indirect logistics procure-to-pay process, ensure visibility to pending payments and accrual reporting, and timely payment of external LSPsCollaborate with Harman Global Control Tower (4PL) to ensure technology interface between shipments and invoicesDocument and develop a process to maintain general ledger account coding logic by Region, by Division / BU.  Manage / Track changesRedesign, document and control SAP info records maintenance cycle for freight and duty ensuring highest data integrity and accuracyPreparation and presentation of reports and status updates for management reviewsPreparation and presentation of reports and status updates for internal customersBuild and maintain close working relationships with internal- and external stakeholders to optimize Harman’s Logistics networkEstablish and report global KPIs, share best-in-class practices, and identify synergies across business unitsBe an agent of positive change: Improve internal / external customer satisfaction by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; establishing and communicating service metrics; monitoring and analyzing results.

What You Need to Be Successful

Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Engineering, Operations or another related field, or equivalent experience in distribution, warehousing, logistics and/or operations managementMinimum of 5 years of related experience in Finance or Logistics with a preference in automotive / electronics distribution. Experience managing a FBAP partner is a plusData oriented mindset and strong analytical skills requiredUnderstanding of corporate finance structureDrive for continuous improvement and Lean mindsetAbility to influence through effective verbal and written communication skillsStrong Project Management skillsExcellent verbal/written communication skillsPossess a can-do attitude and an owner mindsetAbility to multi-task and meet deadlinesMust possess excellent computer skills (Microsoft office applications).Knowledge of SAP is required

Master’s degreeExperience in automating reports and analysesAbility to pay close attention to detailsLean Sigma / Problem solving certificationQlik or Power BI knowledge
