Manager, Global Inventory COE, Business Support (Remote)

What You Will Do

In this role, you will serve as the key finance partner for a designated division(s) within the Global Inventory Center of Excellence (COE), managing the full financial impact of inventory through advanced forecasting, reporting, variance analysis, and compliance. You will lead all inventory-related business support efforts, drive financial insights, quarterback issue resolution, and ensure strong accounting governance while acting as the primary point of contact between finance, operations, and business leadership.

Business Partnership: Build and maintain strong relationships with divisional business leaders (Finance, Operations, Supply Chain) by providing insights on inventory drivers, supporting product lifecycle management (PLCM) decisions, leading Flash calls from an inventory perspective, participating in business reviews, and advising on mergers, acquisitions, and strategic initiatives related to inventory optimization.

Inventory Accounting and Financial Close: Own all inventory-specific month-end close activities for your division(s), including preparing detailed close comments, explaining deviations from forecasts/budgets, performing balance sheet reviews, analyzing cash flow drivers, and ensuring the timely and accurate recording of inventory movements and adjustments.

Financial Reporting and Analysis: Develop and deliver comprehensive reporting on inventory KPIs, variances, reserve requirements, and progress against key initiatives; perform advanced analytics to interpret trends, identify risks/opportunities, and drive decision-making around inventory management and financial performance.

Technical Expertise and Accounting Compliance: Serve as a technical inventory accounting expert by understanding and translating operational inventory activities into accurate accounting treatments, ensuring alignment with corporate accounting policie s, and supporting internal and external audits (primarily SOX-related activities).

Issue Resolution and Stakeholder Communication: Act as the single point of contact for inventory-related accounting issues within your division(s); proactively escalate challenges, facilitate cross-functional alignment, and quarterback the resolution of disputes around accounting treatment, policy exceptions, or business-driven changes.

Planning and Forecasting: Support the inventory planning process by preparing forecast models, validating assumptions with operational teams, coordinating projection and budget calls, and delivering robust financial inputs to help drive inventory investment decisions and optimize working capital.

Process Improvement and Systems Projects: Identify and implement opportunities to automate and enhance reporting and forecasting processes (e.g., leveraging RPA, Alteryx, BOTS); actively participate in system transitions, ERP implementations, and other large-scale inventory projects by providing subject matter expertise and supporting seamless integration.

Governance and Compliance Activities: Support compliance efforts by ensuring adherence to global inventory policies, coordinating documentation for audit requests, monitoring exceptions (e.g., last-time buys, bridge buys), and working closely with Compliance and Technical Accounting teams to mitigate risks and drive accountability.

What You Need

Required

Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or equivalent is required

8+ years experience in a complex inventory and/or other complex accounting functions in global organizations

Strong working knowledge and practical application of US GAAP in complex accounting environments.

Preferred

Masters degree

CPA

Oracle/SAP/MFG/JDE experience

100,500 - 215,300 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.

Travel Percentage: 20%
