Job Description

MISSION

The Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for providing insight-driven analytics to support business decision making with an emphasis on supporting partners at the VP and Executive level.  Aside from day-to-day reporting and analysis, this role is also responsible for the development of Indigo’s annual budget and will prepare “executive ready” communication of monthly, quarterly and annual financial performance. The manager will conduct business case evaluation and micro/macro analytics of various business problems. The Manager will act as a coach to all analysts in the department with direct and indirect reporting relationships and will act as a subject matter expert for all systems and data requirements for the team.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Functional

Serve as the primary finance partner to the Commercial teams within IndigoPrepare and present monthly business reviews, highlighting key trends, variances, risks, and opportunities. Provide actionable insights to senior leadership.Build and maintain complex models to evaluate business cases, assess ROI, and support decision-making for strategic projectsLead monthly forecasting and budgeting processes across IndigoManage the creation of executive materials for the CFO in support of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial updatesLead the end-to-end capital investment process, including business case development, prioritization, and post-investment review. Partner with stakeholders to evaluate and track key investments across the organization.Act as a coach to all financial analysts on the team for both direct and indirect reporting relationshipsPrepare ad hoc financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to business partnersAct as an advocate for the customer by placing them at the forefront of all design and decision-making processesProactively identify and anticipate customer expectations and needsEmbrace and seek out technology that creates high tech and high touch solutions for Indigo’s customersChallenge the status quo and consistently identify areas for improvement, diagnose issues and working to resolve them

Qualifications

Work Experience / Education / Certifications

University degree in Business, Accounting or Finance preferred5-10 years of experience in finance, including experience in budgeting, reporting and data managementCPA designation

Competencies / Skills / Attributes

Exceptional skills in the areas of financial analysis, budgeting/forecasting, variance analysisProficient using Microsoft Excel and PowerPointAbility to think big picture, conduct the right level of analysis depending on the requirements, and provide actionable insightsSuperior communication skills, both written and verbalDemonstrated ability to operate at all levels of an organizationExperience recruiting, training and managing financial analytic staffUser of SAP, BW and Hyperion an assetRetail industry experience an asset
