The candidate for this position as the Manager Financial Operations Reporting be a critical member of the finance team and a principle financial advisor to our businesses and senior management.  This individual will be responsible for reviewing and validating financial results for actuals, forecast, and budget submissions.  This position is a unique blend of financial planning and analysis with classic accounting skills.  This individual will analyze, classify, and review financial data and provide interpretation of results for use by all levels of management.

The candidate will work closely with corporate personnel and will be a key point of contact for operating companies (Opcos) regarding accounting and reporting issues.  Career progression opportunities exist within the finance groups of our OpCos as well as the corporate finance group in financial planning and analysis as well as controllership roles. 

This position is part of the Finance and Accounting Department and will be located in Washington, DC.  The role reports to the Senior Director – Corporate Finance & Accounting with significant interaction with the Vice President – Corporate Controller, CAO, Director, SEC Reporting, Director – Investments & M&A Accounting, Senior Manager – OneStream, Senior Director – FP&A, Director – Treasury Accounting, and OpCo CFOs.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Review and validate each OpCo’s actual and forecasted financial results on a monthly basis as well as budget information on an annual basis and provide analytical reports of business performance to various end users in the broader organization (i.e. OpCo/platform CFOs, senior members of corporate Finance, Tax, Legal, M&A, Danaher Business Systems group, etc.) as well as internal & external auditors.

Manage the incentive compensation process for each OpCo.  Work with the OpCo CFOs to establish financial targets at the beginning of the year and review the results at year-end directly with the CAO and CFO.

Support Director – Investments & M&A Accounting with integration of new acquisitions including standard work for reporting requirements, and training on Corporate reporting tools/processes.

Prepare annual intangibles impairment review and quarterly goodwill and intangibles analysis using information from the OpCos as well as quarterly hedge analysis and memo.

Prepare monthly journal entries and review monthly account reconciliations in various areas including those related to debt and swap arrangements.

Support the quarterly and annual SEC disclosure process through automation of data collection and validation.

Research, analyze, and document technical accounting topics on an ad hoc basis to support the appropriate accounting of transactions in compliance with US GAAP

Act as a resource and main point of contact for OpCo personnel in interpretations of Danaher’s Finance policies.

Play a leading role in evaluating and implementing changes to improve processes within the organization.

The essential requirements of the job include:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 9+ years experience OR Master's degree in field with 7+ years experience OR Doctoral degree in field with 4+ years experience and A CPA license is required.

Working knowledge of US GAAP and experience with SEC and managerial reporting requirements is essential.

Progressive experience in accounting or financial reporting roles. Big 4 or regional accounting firm experience is required.

Strong global business perspective with understanding of a multinational organization with multiple business units is preferred.

Effective written and verbal communication.

Strong detail orientation and the ability to manage competing requests and prioritize on a real-time basis in a fast moving, ever-changing environment.

The salary range for this role is $120,000 to $145,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
