Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
The Global Theatrical Marketing Finance Manager has a key role in budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analyzing global marketing costs for Universal Pictures theatrical releases. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this individual must have the ability to identify and communicate cost drivers to management. The position involves close interaction with the global marketing team and the qualified candidate will have the ability to work with all levels of finance and non-finance staff. The role also includes month and quarter close responsibilities and ensuring that marketing operations are complying with corporate policies. With strong analytical and communication skills, the candidate must also be a team player.
Essential Responsibilities:
+ Key role in budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analyzing global marketing spend includes working with Global Marketing team to track costs and adhere to budgets
+ Preparation of weekly marketing flash report
+ Analyze and prepare pre-release case scenarios
+ Participate in bi-weekly senior executive meetings on marketing budgets.
+ Collaborate with Marketing Finance, FP&A and Controllership to close the financial month, quarter and year
+ Assist with internal, external and Sarbanes Oxley audits
+ Help global marketing team with finance issues
+ Improve existing reporting to provide better analytical tools
+ Perform ad hoc financial analysis as needed
Basic Qualifications:
+ A Bachelor’s Degree (BA,BS) from an accredited college or university in Finance or related field
+ 4+ years of finance experience
+ Solid forecasting, analytic and financial modeling skills
+ Outstanding computer skills including extensive experience with Microsoft Office programs – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook
Desired Characteristics:
+ SAP BW/BPC experience preferred
+ Proven ability to work independently with attention to detail and efficiency
+ Exceptional work ethic and follow through
+ Solid organizational and analytical skills
+ Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
+ Takes initiative and lead on projects
+ Ability to interface effectively with multiple levels of management, ranging from senior corporate executives to business unit managers and third parties
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
