Compensation

Compensation includes a base salary of $90,100.00 - $150,100.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

The Manager, AJC Experiences will be responsible for the oversight of the vision and logistics ensuring all AJC Events & Experiences are executed with excellence. He/she will provide a vision for executing events and programs with innovation and efficiency, build the framework for events, and liaise with senior leaders as well as a team of producers, event managers and specialists. He/she will oversee and refine the policies, processes, and tools to streamline our event execution, manage event budgets and drive reporting and analytics to communicate results. 

Please note: this person must be based in Atlanta, GA.

In this position you will:

Oversee event vision, execution and logistics for all in-person and virtual events, brainstorming and implementing event plans and concepts

Oversee and execute all non-production event elements including venue research and selection, menus, entertainment, room layout, decor, signage and all related 3rd party resources

Create and maintain event strategy and vision while balancing innovation with cost efficiency

Oversee event budget, invoices, contracts and RFP vendor process

Create internal guideline events for the AJC in an effort to standardize certain processes and create turnkey execution

Continually evaluate successes and shortfalls of all planned events and adjust efforts as needed

Work closely with business leaders to establish clear business goal alignment for every event and measure the success against those goals

Work with analytics teams to understand audience metrics and ROI

Create post-event reports for senior leadership

Lead, empower and motivate our events team of freelancers and third-party resources who provide logistical and technical support

Develop event feedback surveys to better understand audiences

Collaborate with revenue teams to oversee relationships with event partners, including corporate sponsors to ensure partner needs are met

Research, recommend and solidify venues and all related details

Be a champion for the AJC brand, both internally and externally

Cultivate relationships and partnerships at all levels across the org

Provide Operational and Project Management support in the form of building timelines, managing project management software, creating and distributing detailed notes and next steps after meetings, and generally keeping multiple projects moving forward simultaneously

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, Management, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Advertising, Marketing or a related field with at least six (6) years of experience. May have a Master’s degree with at least four (4) years of experience or Ph.D with at least 1 year of experience or must have at least 10 years of total experience in relevant fields.

7 years of managing multiple, multi-faceted live events highly preferred

Proven track record of managing events on multiple platforms and with complex budgets

Requires proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Monday, Shoflo, Splash/Cvent, Slack, Teams, or related platforms.

Ability to lead and motivate a collaborative, fast-paced team

Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail

A multi-tasker who can roll up their sleeves and get in the trenches, with an ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines

A friendly and positive personality who thrives in a dynamic environment

Ability to create and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact and provide recommendations to stakeholders, with strong presentation skills that outline a clear message and rationale
