Objectives of the Position
As a customized solution provider, developing Cellasto parts which are meeting technical requirements and specifications from automotive customers.Technical responsibility for development projects with specific OEMs or related Tier1 customers.Promote Cellasto technical advantages to increase BASF market share for Jounce Bumper, Top Mount and Coil Spring Isolator. In focusing replacement of rubber with clear value proposition of Cellasto as well as defending technical leadership position among the PUR suppliers.This position requires working very closely with Sales, Product Management, Procurement, QM, Supply Chain and Production teams.Lead global projects Cellasto design, provide global harmonized solution to key customers, well communication skill and capable to cooperate with global team.Willing to travel in frequent base to participant or organize technical workshop, technical review meeting, trouble shot solving and so on.Basic understanding of financial factors which is important point for price calculation.Increase business growth opportunities of Honda and Mazda
Main Tasks
Development Project AcquisitionProactively promote Cellasto solutions at customers and provide expertise and storyline which could lead to joint development projects and finally nominated for new business. Well understanding of difference between rubber and PUR material used for Cellasto application in terms of part performance.
Design OptimizationResponsible for reviewing part design geometry based on simulation, prototype part evaluation results, customer feedback and production feasibility evaluation.
Project ManagementManage all phases in development process with internal engineers from specification review to launch of series production. Full responsibility for timeline and milestones, such as 3D part design, simulation, sample part manufacturing, internal testing, customer vehicle evaluation, OTS, PPAP and customer approval.
InnovationResponsible for new recipe, new idea, new technology promotion no matter to customer or BASF internal. Collecting and well understanding of OEM’s new trend design conception for chassis parts.
Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position
Education: Bachelor-Degree or above in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering or vehicle dynamicsWorking Experience: min 5 years of experience in automotive part design or as project management at Auto OEM or Tier 1 supplier. Familiar with JPN OEMs development process is preferred.Technical & Professional Knowledge: Experienced in part design or measurement for automotive industry, familiar with ISO/ TS 16949, design FMEA, capable to analyze and solve problems, experience in customer communication, CAD software (Pro/E preferred) , PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), Project Management Capability. Experience in Engineer Plastic application in Automotive industry is plus.Language skills: Japanese (native speaker) and skillful of English both in oral and writing.
