Overview
The EHR/Clinical Systems Manager is responsible for overseeing and supporting the Touro College of Dental Medicine (TCDM) health information technology including axiUm, Touro's electronic health record (EHR) system. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Clinical Systems at Touro's New York campus, this role will provide support with any tasks related to the ongoing configuration, maintenance, training, and user support of the axiUm electronic Health Record suite of applications, as it pertains to the New Mexico clinic or ensuring continuity across the New York and New Mexico clinics. The EHR/Clinical Systems Specialist may also assist with the transmission and extraction of data for reporting purposes.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Administrative manager for axiUm at the New Mexico Campus.
+ Assists in continual axiUm development and related project plans by providing accurate, deliverable timeframes.
+ Coordinates with Clinical Practice Leader's, staff, students, liaisons, and champion users to assess the organization's practice management needs and priorities.
+ Trains and assists departments with the adoption and effective use of axiUm and HIT software applications.
+ Works in conjunction with the Informatics group to test the integrity of the data captured in axiUm.
+ Coordinates and consults with internal and external clients to gather information about program needs, objectives, functions, features, input and output requirements, and maintenance of project plans.
+ Prepares and presents timely, up-to-date or current data to meet the needs of projects
+ Coordinate EHR training and training tools, including new hire practice management EHR training.
+ Partner with the Operations team to promote a proactive safety culture focused on prevention and compliance.
+ Maintain, review and report EHR performance, identifying opportunities for improvement along with implementing preventative and corrective actions as required.
+ Conduct internal EHR audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
+ Root Cause and problem solve, identify and implement short term and long-term corrective actions
+ Assist with creating of training material.
+ Maintain support ticketing program within axiUm practice management system.
+ Perform other duties as assigned by Sr. Director of Clinical Systems.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
+ A Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred.
+ Experience managing clinical information technology in a healthcare or academic setting strongly preferred.
+ Certifications in areas such as Data Science, or Healthcare IT is a plus.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
+ Proven ability to execute technology strategies that meet organizational objectives.
+ Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and facilitate effective cross-functional collaboration.
+ Experience with Oracle Database & knowledge of Virtualization, a plus.
+ Strong understanding of clinical workflows, patient journeys, and healthcare systems; familiarity with axiUm or other electronic health records management software preferred.
+ Familiarity with current and emerging healthcare technologies.
Travel
+ Occasional travel to attend industry events and vendor meetings.
Working Conditions
+ Duties are performed in an office and clinical environment, requiring frequent contact with employees, patients, and external partners
+ Ability to lift documents and equipment weighing up to 20 pounds.
