Job Description

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

Responsible for maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of Accounting Services’s control framework, ensuring that it is robust and capable of mitigating risks and achieving objectives. Leads the Quality Audit team, ensuring processes and controls are met and SLA’s maintained. Acts as Accounting Services COE Expert for controls and ensuring identification of continuous improvement opportunities, development and implementation of action plans and solutions.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Responsible for ensuring Quality Audit processes are followed and in compliance with SOX control

Leads the Quality Audit team ensuring SLA’s are maintained

Assessing existing controls, identifying weaknesses, and implementing improvements to ensure the integrity of financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and the overall effectiveness of business processes

Work with management and staff to address control deficiencies and improve the overall control environment

Provide training and guidance to team on control procedures and compliance requirements. 

Key knowledge resource for controls across Accounting Services

Exercises due diligence in following operational risk policies, procedures, standards and guidelines

Ensures appropriate staff succession planning and resource allocation is in place

This role is responsible to provide approval on documentation as it relates to SOP's for audit functions within Accounting Services

Reviews all transactions/reports/documents to ensure compliance/adherence

Change management champion within the Team and the department.

Collaborating to create an environment of open and effective discussions.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

 Must have:

Minimum 5+ years working experiences in Accounting Services or other relevent fields

Exposure in Audit would be considered a strong asset

University degree in Accounting or Finance

Great communication skills (written and verbal)

Advanced business understanding and knowledge of risk and control functions​

Nice-to-have: 

Finance industry experience

Professional accounting and/ or relevant designation (CPA, CA, CISA)

Deep knowledge and understanding of oraganizational practices / disciplines
